Well, yeah, an RV 440 without a cam change will quit well shy of 5000. Maybe shy of 4000! The 390 hp 440 Sixpack horsepower was at a rated 4700.With all the discussion, it has made me curious. I think with headers, and fresh 452 heads, it should push about 300 + horsepower. I'll probably start with the street dominator and my 750 Brawler. Tune from there. So, we'll try it in slug form, or slow motion first LOL. Unless it goes 15's, then I'll say "why bother?" and go back to the 5.9Then again, my 100% stock-never-taken-apart 318 with the only addition of 4bbl/headers ran it well into the 15's, I'm expecting slightly more with 122 cubes, and much better heads.
- I do think I'll have to drop my gears from 4.30's down a bit. 440 will run out of lungs in 800 ft.
Maybe you could try some 15x33s?
