Attempting to reconnect brake line to wheel cylinder. 1966 barracuda, flare fitting appears to be hard piped to brake line! Any suggestions?

I don't really understand your question. The rear metal brake lines do fit directly into the wheel cylinders. Are you talking about front or rear? Any chance of posting a picture of the parts in question?

Photo? Some of those used a short metal "jumper line" which connected to the hose going to the frame

Screw the cylinder on to the brake line before you bolt down, or pull the line at the other end and screw it in, then connect the other end back up.

Are you sure it's not just corroded to the line?

Are you talking about this?

The 'tube' end just threads into the wheel cylinder and is tightened; there is a thin copper washer that goes on this end and seals the fitting to the wheel cylinder. The wheel cylinder port where this threads in is angled towards the back of the car and so the right and left wheel cylinders are different. If your wheel cylinder port faces towards the front, you have it on the wrong side.

The rear wheel cylinder ports face straight in towards the center of the car; the rears are identical right to left.

Is yours like this?

OK, so expound.........what is the problem?

Is the thread on the tube nut effed up? Wrong hose / wrong thread? They should be standard 3/16 inverted flare female in the hose end
