Out of the '55-'59 generation of Fords, it seems the '58 gets the least appreciation- but it's long been my favorite, so I was pretty tickled to see this sweet '58 Fairlane 500 ragtop on my way to the junkyard today.

This is a recently-created "scenic outlook"- used to be just another tree-covered hill. In the background here is Sawyer Mountain ridge, elevation about 1600 ft. If it wasn't such an overcast day, through that notch New Hampshire's Mount Washington (elevation six thousand and something, I believe) would be visible.

Ah, it was stop and go traffic, i was probably only going 10 MPH when i took it.

The car in front moved over and i got a glimps of it, the Olds was taking the exit and i took a quick shot.

Just got back from Santa Fe and they are all over around that area. It would really kill you to see all the old iron just sitting in fields. There is an old 61 or 62 chevy in a ravine on the way to Taos that I remember seeing sitting there 14 years ago. The only difference is now someone has painted it's not for sale so don't ask on it.
