Bringing the 66 back to life

-
Got together with Paul the other day, he's the other 66cuda here in Michigan. He was kind enough to offer his skills in helping, and teaching me how to re-cover my front seats. I sure am glad because I had no idea just how much work went into re-covering these seats, he busted his *** and boy did they come out nice. Just a SPECIAL THANKS to Paul (66cuda) it's great to have member like him close by who has all the skills and knowledge that he has, he makes my build go a lot smoother. Any how here are a few pictures of what they looked like when I first brought the cuda home and us re-doing them and then the finished product. Enjoy them you know I sure do.
Bob

Dang!!! I think I found me a good body shop in town, I hope and trust they do as well on Victoria :glasses7:
Look's sohoooooosoooo good and thank you for keeping us up dated

Just found and read this thread and now I'm depressed....amazing build. I hope my 66' looks this good when I get around to it.

Question: Where did you get the bucket seat upholstery? Hope you don't mind, but how much did they cost?

Thanks for the great comments everybody, I bought the seat covers from a guy out in California. He was going to use them and decided to go with a different color. They are Legendary seat covers and I got them for $175.00 that included shipping. They are new but he had them mounted on his seats and took them back off. I will be putting them in this weekend and will take some more pictures as I go along. After a few days out in the warm sunshine and putting the backs and side covers on they look great, nice and tight.

Was a real nice day here in Michigan today, lots of sunshine and not to cool out so I had some time to play with the CUDA. I finished putting in the carpet, the front kick panels, and the side scuff plates and installed the back seat. Then I put in the console and still had some time to put in the passenger side seat, thats my buddy Journey inspecting the seats. Hopefully I will be able to put in the drivers side seat next week and the front seat belts. Won't be long now and I will be driving this baby everywhere. I did build it to be a daily driver and my son and son in law can't wait to go out for a drive also.

I see you employ CAT quality control!
I have no choice either, bloody cats have to check everything out. All looking good, not far to go now!

seats look great,,,,,where did you get the foam ? and was it pre cut to fit/? thanks

I got the seat foam from a guy right here in New Baltimore Michigan but he would only sell it through eBay. He goes by the name MCP-313 and it was $110.00 each side and free shipping. No it was not pre cut, Paul cut it and when he did it I freeked out, then he laughed and told me he knew I was going to do that. I had no idea that it had to be cut to fit the contoures. I was thinking what is this nut doing and there goes $220.00 down the drain. Yes they really did turn out nice and paul thought the foam was very good. Here is a picture of one of the backs after he cut the foam.

Does a great big WOOHOO fit right here???. Glad to hear it's almost on the road Bob, can't wait to hear the good news that it took it's maiden voyage!! Keep up the good work!! Geof

OK here is a before and after picture now that the CUDA is done, well done enough to drive I still have a few small things to do and like always you are never done because you are always changing something. Thanks to everyone for all the great comments, and takeing time to watch my thread. I have had a ball putting this car back together and I am very happy with the way it turned out. I am waiting for the DMV to send me back the registration for my 66 MICHIGAN plates and then it will go for it's first drive on the road in over 20 years, GOD I hope I tightened all the nuts and bolts. Anyhow after I take it for a drive I will let you know how it went. Once again thanks for watchin.
Bob

I gave the CUDA a bath and changed the oil and filter today, still had the break in oil in it. I used Valvoline VR1 20W-50 Synthetic oil and a Mopar filter, that should last it the summer. Still wating for the Michigan SOS to send me the registration for the 66 plates, as soon as I get it out for a drive it goes. Can't wait.
