Buying Snap-On online

-
Just a word of caution coming from an old Mac Tool dealer with 3 decades of experience, You can buy brand name from garage sales, pawn shops, and online but if you break it, wear it out, or it needs repair (like a ratchet) You may not get any service from the local snap on dealer. You will probably need to send it in to get it replaced or repaired. They guys in the trucks are usually independent dealers and may not want to handle warranty that wasn't purchased from them. Just an FYI
I agree, the ones I do purchase at pawn stores are usually like breaker bars, extensions, etc. Ratchets I like to purchase new from trucks. I don’t stick with Snap-On, I like Cornwell, Mac and other name brands.

My experience with snap on is different than what’s being discussed here. All of the snap on drivers I’ve worked with have always warranted tools regardless of where I purchased them. Never even been questioned about it. I think I’ve had probably 6 different snap on guys in the last 20 years, and not one of them has ever asked for a receipt or proof of purchase of any kind.

This thread just reminded me to call my snap on guy.

Shhhhh don't tell anyone. I didn't ask for an original receipt but some Scrap Iron guys do. Asswipes!
I have been dealing with Snap on for 55 years. I never once had a truck dealer ask for a receipt. MAC dealer never asked. Craftsman neither. Just presented the damaged tool and swapped out a new one. I don’t even know where the receipts are:). 55 years ago the paper would crumble if I found it:)
