Yes I know eBay has some new but also could be fake. Safe deal online for Snap-On stuff?

I have a few from eBay ... used, but in pretty good shape.

Distributor wrench and a alignment tool set. Seems to be the real deal and other than some "normal" wear and tear, in very good condition. Don't know that I would trust anything advertised as "new"

Yes, Snap-on industrial

I don't need or buy much, but when I do, I'll go hunt the guy down who fixed my ratchet for free and didn't know me from Adam's house cat. Carolina Power & Light bought all of us linemen Snap On 3/8 long handle ratchets, deep sockets, ratchet wrenches and screwdrivers 30 years ago. I've stripped the guts of the 3/8 ratchet 3 times making it do 1/2 inch work and never paid a dime to get it fixed.

Picture of your Distributor Wrench please.

Here is a sideline comment to this Distributor Wrench thing and adjusting the timing.

Now my '89 318 Truck (old TBI engine) now converted to Mopar HEI and E-core coil and 4 bbl.

Tricky getting my short 1/2" wrench in there, alternately flipping the open end to tighten. Cramped Space

Now with the Mopar HEI and e-core coil I set my timing at 8° BTDC to work with the faster burning e-core coil vs if it had a Tower Coil like a Pertronix III then the timing would be set at factory 12° BTDC.

Now I have a secondary mechanical oil pressure gauge plumbed in along with the electric sending unit for the factory dash gauge.

These are at the oil pressure port on a 3" stand pipe to a Y for the 2 gauges.

Now when I swing the distributor to 8° BTDC, the perfect spot is where the vacuum advance canister touches the oil pressure stand pipe. Perfect 8° BTDC

This works fine for my setup and conversion, plugs are burning amazingly clean.

Still need an easier way to tighten the distributor bolt, like a "Snap-On" small block distributor wrench.

Thanks All

I did get some blunt ended hose picks. So I can remove hoses without damaging hoses.
And Saltus wrenches

I've bought thousands of dollars worth of new and used Snap On off of eBay.

Your eBay purchases are guaranteed, so there is no fear in buying there.

I've been screwed on FBM, Craigslist and elsewhere... eBay has done me right.

YOMV

As always- Buyer beware

I've done pretty well on ebay. But those are individual tools needed. I'm currently just finishing up my 2nd box for 2nd garage that house some vehicles. The thought was I was getting tired either moving vehicle(s) back and forth. Or moving tools back and forth. When alittle younger lifting a 150+lb box back and forth was no biggy. But now? I can do it, but getting tiresome. I'll post the finished box in the coming days. But at the core was a wrench purchase from a retired local mechanic advertised on Craigslist. $1000 for his Snap on wrenches. About 70, with another 20 or so specialty pieces. (My rule was not to pillage my existing tool boxes.

My advise? Be patient, and don't fear mixing new with older used purchases. This was the drawer of wrenches I purchased. They were even in better shape than I anticipated. 1/2 were newer (with in last 10-15 years) 1/2 are older up to 30 years.

Just a word of caution coming from an old Mac Tool dealer with 3 decades of experience, You can buy brand name from garage sales, pawn shops, and online but if you break it, wear it out, or it needs repair (like a ratchet) You may not get any service from the local snap on dealer. You will probably need to send it in to get it replaced or repaired. They guys in the trucks are usually independent dealers and may not want to handle warranty that wasn't purchased from them. Just an FYI

I totally agree. And there is no better source than having a good relationship and standing with a truck operator. The operator will still give preferential treatment to their bigger account customers, But be patient, respectful and purchase something. Ive heard my 1st truck guy complained that walk ups rarely buy. They phish for information and/or outstanding deals only.

I needed a ball joint socket for my 73 pick-up. Ended up going to a Snap-On warehouse to purchase it. Next time I needed one, I worked at an auto parts store and delivered to dealerships. Got acquainted with the Snap-On driver and bought tools. Same when I worked at the dealerships. Bought directly. Oops! Forgot about George! He sold tools during the day and worked at a gas station at night. He let me watch him do drum brakes on a car there. Then I went and did it myself. Can't remember if I bought tools from him. Did buy a bent 68 Camaro SS/RS 396 with M/T and fold down rear seat. It was a steal! Thanks George! (see what you started!)

Please never repeat this garbage again. The coil has nothing to do with how fast the burn happens. Timing has a lot of variables that must be taken in to consideration but the coil is not one of them.
