cam upgrade for stock 360 with low Comp Ratio

-
I like to see how your build turns out. Very similar to mine. I'm running the LD4B with the Comp xe256 and 600cfm. However, I have 318 heads with manifolds choking it down. Camquest gets me around 250HP/360ftlbs. I bet you'll be closer to 280-300hp with the headers, better heads, xe262h, and higher compression. Maybe more...lets see.

I am impressed 310hp over 400ftlbs with your characteristics. Assuming shaving the heads gets you around 9/1 compression. Im just doing a SWAG for fun but here is your graph with the XE262 looks promising.

Roger that.... and the DCR still will be safe. It would be interesting (to me) to see where the 256 cam moved the RPM's of the peaks; ought to move it down.

I suspect a typo above..... IIRC, you are supposed to mill .0095" from the intake side for every .010" from the deck or main head surface.

And no reason to not use the 1121G head gasket IMHO. .028" thick compressed. Just a few less cc's in the chamber to rob compression....

Be ready to use the RTV at the ends of the intake rather than the original type gaskets. Not any big deal.
Going to use the mr.gasket head gasket so you said to put t
R v t on the ends what color should I use red? or is their a better sealant to use

I have been having trouble choosing what kind of head gasket to go with will it hurt me if I just used the regular fel pro gasket due to me reading bad reviews on the mr. gasket steel head gasket. When running this cam will I be fine with a low comp ratio

Overthinking it. Run a gasket with the sizes needed/wanted. Fle-Pro, Mr. Gasket (Ultra seals), Cometic, Detroit. All fine.

That is on the front and rear ends of the intake manifold, rather than the cork end gaskets..... not on the head gasket. Black RTV.... the gasket maker type. There are some detailed threads on this forum on doing that; it has to set up 12-24 hours IIRC.

You will be as good as you are going to get on static CR unless you mill more off of the heads. Is that still the plan? Dynamic CR will be in the low 7's with the 262 cam so that is very safe. Even the 256 and 248 duration cams will be safe.
