Cat Pics

No activity on the cat thread since June?

Here's our new guy.

Story in one of the hurricane threads.

Short version-
Appeared in back yard with mother 3 weeks before storm.
Mom disappeared a week before storm.
Wife was able to bring him in 2 days before storm.

We are resisting the urge to name him "Ian".

Pretty.

Almost doesn't look like a cat.

I think we may have found Romeo's home.

My wife asked a neighbor who frequently walks in the neighborhood if he knew of anyone missing a cat.
He said he thinks the people next door to him had a small black and white cat.
However they are rarely home.

We're going to go talk with them this afternoon.

I'm gonna miss that little guy.

Hopefully we can convince them to keep them inside.
Perhaps they have already started. That would explain why we haven't seen the mother.

That's not really in the right position to be a "package", is it a hernia?

Update on Romeo-

We went to the house where Romeo's "people" were reported to live.

Light on in the garage out back but no answer at the door.
On the second attempt (still no answer) a kitten that looked just like Romeo appeared in the window wearing a collar and bell.
Pretty strong evidence. Wonder why only Romeo and his mom were visiting us and got left out in the storm?

Additionally, my wife says the mother cat appeared last night on the windowsill outside the bedroom she uses as an office/studio.
That's fascinating, as before she kept to the back yard along the fence line, mostly out of sight and because we haven't seen her for almost 3 weeks.
How did she know?

It's possible the mother and multiple kittens got dumped in the neighborhood (it's happened several times before) and those people only found one of the kittens and took her (pink collar) in.
They may not even know about Romeo and the mother.

We'll try again tonight, and we have the weekend.

We were told that family is almost never home.
Shame to have pets that hardly ever see their people.
Romeo (Ro-meow?) is becoming VERY much a "people cat".
