Well Hello FABO,
I have this A833 behind a 383 in a 67 barracuda. I got the rods from Brewers and before I bug him, I thought I'd bug you. The rods are really nice pieces btw, but they are all coming up about 1/8" long when the adjusters are threaded all the way in. Not my first stick but generally I believe the 1/4" screwdriver/rod through the shifter hole that lines up the levers and the trans in neutral a guy would adjust the threaded dealie bobs to length and WHAMO! You are part of the row team. the thing is they ALL are the same distance too long so this has got to be installer error. Class is in session. Pictures on their way. be patient.

Thanks FABO!

Let’s see how you have the shift levers oriented on the shift forks.

A tough shot for the samsung note 5. Ill get it. they appear straight up and I can turn the driveline by spinning rear tires although it takes some effort. I have the inspection cover off the flywheel area to verify there is no movement there. One moment please....

I think i know what you are about to tell me....

I’m almost certain that’s a 2298 plate on your gearbox

The lower plate to trans mount bolt area is the tell tell. Check out these pics I swiped from brewers look at the casting difference’s at the lower bolt area. First up a 2298 (looks like what you have) then the 6350
also look at the distance between the rear shifter to plate hole and upper rear plate to trans hole.

After you find the proper plate and mount the shifter on it. I've found with my early a-body shifters, the 1/4" drill shank in the shifter levers trick doesn't work with the reverse lever. Maybe I've done something wrong, but I always adjusted the forward gear selection levers with the pin engaged, but not inserted in the reverse lever. I adjusted the reverse lever separately.

Reverse lever does not have a hole or notch all the time. You can use the outside edges for those.
