the tubes are offset not in straight lines... been running them for years. may be called something else.

That's what I was saying. BUT most cooling systems are not designed to be that efficient. I drove my dart the other day and it was 20 deg F out. I never got above thermostat temp, just around town minimal stopping. Change the ambient up a bunch of degrees and the efficiency of the system comes into play. take 20 up to 90 (add 70 the thermostat temp) 180 gets you to 250. My cooling system can shed 50 deg delta so it runs at 200The engine will only run at thermostat opening temperature IF the rest of the system is capable of maintaining that temperature.
If not the temperature will climb until the cooling system can keep up.
