D150 with a RV 440, just to see what it will run

-
question: Would you expect an RV440 in a D150 with somewhat of a "stall" (2800 ?) and headers to beat a stock 5.9 magnum (4bbl/headers) in a full size '89 van with bed, table, and chairs, and a towing torque converter??? I promise you the van is WAY heavier.

The van will run 15.4's-15.5's in the 1/4, and 9.9's in the 1/8.

I’ll take the 5.9 magnum all day long and twice on Sunday.

In the heavy, much heavier van .... with much less converter.... ok ! :)
Maybe this will be the first test. Race it against the van ..... (I did put the eddy carb on the van since it's went down the track). Not sure if that changed any of the performance.

The converter isn’t going to do anything for a stock rv440 except move it right through the area where it makes the most torque. It will be faster with a stock converter. Hopefully your converter doesn’t flash right up to the point the valve springs loose control.

Just gave up 2 tenths right there.
Probably. I did it because I didn't want the new 650 brawler DP on the van. I put a 650 AVS 2 on it. On my Duster, they ran the same. So I don't know. I generally don't think of my van as racing, though I've raced it LOL
