Just picked up 1 of 2 FG fenders for my '65 Dart. The quality was worse than horrible. Found Valiant FB fenders for 64/65 Valiant/Barracuda. Can I use these instead? Dart look will be more of a hybrid but that's OK. Also found FG doors for '65 Valiant. Can I use these too?

I've seen dart fenders on a Barracuda so I don't see why not. The door should be interchangeable too

Does that mean the Valiant door won't work?

Doors are the same for same body style 4dr ect. door locks and latches did change I think in 65 but can be changed

Fg and fb fenders? No Valiant won't interchange with Dart unless you use the whole front end.

Where did you find them? Fiberglass is usually not show quality. fitment is not normally a concern....just to get it to look like a Dart without the nose weight. Ive seen an entire front clip for a 65 Barracuda in FG but I cant find it anymore, that would be cool as the fitment is all there, you just have to rig up a hinge at the front valence or lift the whole thing off the reinforced front end as much of the front end is tied into the inner fenders on these unibodies.

Canadian Dart, note factor Valiant front clip. Same body lines

There are some differences in the '64-6 models too, such as lock cylinders and hinges, but, except for those items, it's mainly molding and door panel differences.

I did a quick scan and not see any difference with the hinges. Found that the Dart 2 and 4 dr door hinges are the same. Valiant hinges different than the Dart? Not worried about the door locks.

The upper hinge is the same from '63-6 A-body and '66-70 B-body. The lower hinges are '63-5 A-body only. In '66 they went with the later design that was the same all the way to '76 in the A-bodies, '66-70 B-bodies, and amazingly enough, '72-80 Pickups, Ramchargers, and Traildusters. These are for the front door only. Rear door hinges are completely different.

The door interchange groups are '63-only, and '64-'66.

I have a 63 and a 65. Never tried to interchange their doors, but never noticed any difference, either. What is different about the 63?

Edit: well, except that 63-4 armrests slant upwards, while 65-6 are horizontal; plus the 66 has different exterior door locks.

Just curious about what I've missed. . . .

Yep. And what's more, the '66-up hinges go on the Dodge pickups clear on up through '93. That's why a certain well-known eBayer of Mopar parts was able to run his auction for new genuine Chrysler door hinges for '60s-'70s A- and B-body cars for as long as he did: buy low, describe strategically, sell high.

So the Valiant fenders will fit. Then I need a Valiant hood too?

I think the Val fenders wont take the Dart hood as the front lip is shaped differently. Val has an overhang, while the Dart is flat up front.
