It was 6:30pm Friday night. The girlfriend and I got her aunt to watch the kids so we could take the dart to dinner and a movie. We took the scenic route and almost got t boned by a gold impala that evidently didn't see the giant hemi scoop or hear the open headers. After the birds flew and the look on his face as if he was exempt from stopping at stops signs. We reached our destination. Shays, a hotel bar/restaurant that we both like. Place was dead just the way I like it. Food was good service was good. We had a good 45 min before the movie started so we cruised over to a coworkers place to kill some time. We get to the movie (Lucy) and it is equally dead. 10 people in a 200 seat theatre. Couple walks in and starts walking towards us. Have to get up so they can walk by. Where do they sit, right next to us! So my girlfriend asks me if I want to move and I decide to just start talking about how rude people these days are loud enough for them to hear. If she thought she was getting an arm rest she thought wrong. So the movie starts and she is on her cell phone under a coat. Lady from 6 rows back walks all the way down to chew her a new one. After that a guy in the back is belching and talking loudly with his girlfriend. The movie ends and I stand right up to block in the jerks who sat right next to us. Never again is what I'm saying as I make it to the car. I rolled down the window and fire it up. Just then I hear the loud mouth yell do a burnout. "I've got kids, cheap insurance and a babysitter to get home to" is what I yell at him.

I guess I'm getting old but at the same time I wish I would have said something to everyone that pissed me off.

Who here voices there opinions and let's hear a story.

So was the movie any good?

We liked it. Lot more clever/scientific than I was anticipating.

I have not been to a movie in about 20 years. Maybe more. This is part of the reason. Part of the reason is that some? most? movie chains take it upon themselves to suspend my constitutional rights. The theater on Colorado was one. They prohibit the very self defense methods it would have taken to stop the rampage

The bigger reason you have just now fully covered. "When I was a kid" if you acted up in a theator, 20 people would "shush" you and if you persisted, "some big man" of a father would make it CLEAR to you in easy to understand form that you were to STFU

Good to know. I generally watch movies at home. I realize it's nice to have adult time but that's a problem when you go to most public places today.

I cant speak for a date because I don't have a better half but that is exactly why I go to the movie theater as early as 10:45 a.m. on Mondays or Tuesdays and its cheaper for the "early bird" special.

many occasions I can say I had the movie all to myself because no one else was there that early.

Another option I have locally is one drive inn is there.....one time I went on a date with my dart and it was just us and no one to bother. The only downside is I had to take a boombox that gets FM because the drive inn sends the movie audio over FM only and I have a radio delete in the dart.

Great times

even if I had a better half ......a movie would be the last place I would go on a date ....what good is date if you cant talk and get to know the person better......I can usually talk and talk for hours so a movie date don't make sense to me. .......just sayin

(Not a date night cause I'm single lol) but went out last night with my kids and parents to eat dinner at the Pizza Ranch....way too many people there, nobody watchin their kids, people hoarding the food at the buffet when the place was busy so there was never good food left, some people were being total slobs.....some looked like they dont know how to take a shower...... The whole experience was gross and I never want to go back there again.....sometimes people suck!

Don't even get me going on rude drivers.....Went to a local car show this morning and had a semi truck pull right out in front of me and could have totaled the Valiant, I was so pissed , we have the worst drivers here too :banghead:

People suck!!! It's the "me" generation. Everybody thinks they have rights and you don't.

Hey Sam, ever go to the drive- in movies in Litchfield? Never been there but would be cool to get some old cars together and go sometime, we could make it a fun night!

the name "pizza ranch" sounds good. I bet its good there if so many people crowd in.

Do you have chuck E cheese there or the pizza places with games and rides? I love those places and especially because a lot of those places let me ride the kid rides play the games because I am short enough (4'9") and I weigh less than most of the actual kids. (ball room) Its a blast everytime

We have a chuck-e-cheese, nothing but games, arcades, food is ok...the Pizza Ranch has awesome food, chicken, potatoes, dessert pizza....all really good food, just a bad reaturNt experience with people that will keep me away.

no buffet is complete without cheesy macs and mashed potatoes ......no cheesy macs and mashed potatoes and I am out of there.

So Rani, you have a drive in where you live? Those are a dying breed, the one here where I live is most likely going to close cause theaters are digital now days, and this theater still uses film. Oh well, if you can't keep up, you get left behind.

Joplin Mo still has drive in actually run by member on here ( slant toad runs 10 , yes in qtr!) LOL
anyway, I thought that """I""" was the only person that has that same opinion of people!???? rude adults, kids with NO manners or respect. ( not all).... maybe why I live in the sticks, hate to drive to even parts store at town of 3,000 with NO traffic light! LOL
I was raised to say yes man, no sir, and if I needed it I EXPECTED someone older to knock me on my ***! hard!
me too havn't been to a movie in 15 yrs!!!! why they have netflick!??????

yes sir, and the one near by has updated ....since I have been in the area they upgraded from one screen to three and its always packed on weekends.

I live in a cow town so I have to pass the drive inn every time I go into the nearest "big city" so this drive inn is about 40-45 mins from my house.

I have been going to this drive inn since I moved here and I never knew that it was a rare thing.....but I do see out of state plates around there all the time.

I have a drive in close to me. A double screen. Only go once or twice a year. I've always liked the drive in.

Its on my bucket list. It would be awesome to get some hotrods together to cruise down there.

It's always some derelicts yelling burn em off .

And most have a trash car and are standing around on a street corner drinking.

I usually just give them the one finger salute and drive away at my own pace ,which sometimes could be burning rubber

I don't belch in public, but I do try to fart as much as possible. I keep them to SBDs, though.

mistake.... I said drive in at Joplin, I meant Carthage ( 10 min away). I believe the drive in in Joplin closed.
texas drive in.... in cowpasture. ya gotta watch ya step goin after popcorn, ( darn cow patties)..... but most still have manners in tx....
