Sometimes I pretend to be normal
So I've got to rant! Me and the wife went to buy a newer car for her. We found something she liked at a local dealership, but they refused to sell the car to us, because they would loose money on the deal. What do you guys think of this. This is a condensed version of it all from a email I sent to the owner of the dealership.
"My wife and I went and test drove a 2014 Dodge Journey on Saturday 7/11/15. We went in to buy it on 7/13/15. We spent a hour and half negotiating a value for our trade in with Ryan one of the Managers and came to a agreement. When it came down to the purchase price, we had a hard copy of a Craigslist ad for a lower price on the same car and same VIN #. Which is dated 7/13/15. Ryan refused to sell us the car at the price it was advertised on Craigslist for. He said he would only sell it to us for the higher sticker price and not the online price, because he was unaware of the online ad. He said he does not list vehicles on Craigslist, but called the number on the ad and a Fury Dealership answered, confirming it was a good price.
We asked him to write up the purchase agreement with the online price and our negotiated trade in price but he refused. Ryan told us he had to talk to some people at the South St. Paul location and would call us back on 7/14/15. We spent 3 hours trying to purchase the car and were handed our keys and told no deal would be made. We left in our own truck feeling we had been kicked out and very upset and confused over their business practices.
I had not heard from Ryan during the day so I called the Stillwater dealership at 4pm on 7/14/15 and got his voicemail. I left a message asking him to return my call but have yet to hear anything.
I would like to discuss why he refused to sell us a car at a advertised price and agreed upon trade in. If you could call me back to discuss this further it would be appreciated."
