Just from these pics alone, 65 383, is it a 2 or 4 barrel?

2 barrel I would guess. Here's a 66 383 4 barrel. The carb can't hide. The air cleaners are different as well.

I would remove the filter to to be sure. Some two barrals had air cleaner mounting the same size as four barrles. Or a side view of the carb should tell you. It will be wider front to back.

With the limited info provided.

My guess....

383 2 Barrel . Single snorkle air cleaner and the position of the visible carb linkage.

Here's a 1965 4 barrel setup I found.

Are we sure it's a 383 and not a 361?? :) I'm 99.9% sure that's a 2bbl

65 Polara, base bb was a 383.

2 bbl.
You can tell by the throttle return spring bracket.
I thought there might be a giveaway item.

I thought the air cleaner was the same, 2 or 4, in the c-body, in 65 anyway.

My understanding is 65 went from flat top 10.1 for both 2 and 4 barrel, to dished 9.2 for 2 barrel.

Discovered the 65 c-body left engine mount is the same as the 67-68 bb a-body.
