looked in my mopar race manual. shows the correct spring numbers for nhra, back then. 2 bbl, is 74 # closed, 150 # open.4bbl is 103 closed, 184 open. no dampner were used.I always wondered about the valve springs, is there a source we can find to clarify the differences in those?
Yes, it was a purposely built race car. Mopar searched the aftermarket to come up with parts that could do the job. It was cheaper to outsource cams, headers,carbs and the like to make the program work. The program came late and didn't last long.Well, yeah, you had to have stiffer valve springs on the D/Dart... good grief, that thing had a radical race-only cam. I don't think that proves anything about the 235hp 273.
