I am installing front disc brakes from a 73 Cuda on my 65 Valiant. I have the UCA,s and spindels. Do I use the 65 centerlink, sleeves, and ends? That is what I have on there now but with the new ends positioned as before being replaced, things don't look right. When one wheel would be straight the other is far from it. Any suggestions?:banghead:

I would guess you want "all early" parts for tie ends, idler / pitman, center link, etc

I don't know about early cars, but 67/ later you must match..................

The steering box large / small spline which determines the pitman arm

and that in turn determines the center link and idler arm. The "newer" (73/ later) centerlink causes the stud nuts on tie rods, pitman, and idler, to be "down," 72/ earlier the nuts are "up."

Someone should chime in soon but your problem may be that you are trying to use E body spindles.

Spindles may be the same as 73 A body but the upper control arms won't be correct. Those are for a B/E body and IIRC they are too long. The 65 centerlink, sleeves and ends are fine. Compare your spindles to the ones in this picture. These are from a 75 A body and would be the ones you'd need. Upper A arms are also from 75 A body and would be correct.

Keep your original steering linkage, it is specific to the K-member, not the spindles. Any time you replace a major component, figure an alignment is required. But the last car I did was really close.

For the record, you need 73-76 A-Body Upper control arms from a disk brake equipped car, 73-76 A-body spindles from a disk brake equipped car to include lower ball joints from any non-9" drum A-body. The rest of the stuff; rotors, calipers, upper ball joints, etc... was corporate standard after 73 and would stay pretty much the same until the end of RWD production.
