Doctor J. Airwolf head tests

-
Found a nice LD340 from member with Chrysler part # on it
its that or a Rpm non air gap [no airgaps allowed]

They seem to be available new at all the normal outlets...they certainly show up on Facebook groups for sale all the time new and used...
Really! Interesting…… No FB for me though….

The new bloomer heads look very nice. I will be running a set with a highly modified tr5 tunnel ram hopefully next year

Can't wait to read about bloomers in a bloomer head thread.

Seems like every aftermarket big port head thread is trolled by the same bloomer head salesman....:poke:

gonna guess you are referring to me.
For the record, i dont need to sell for anybody.
I own a very successful business and can buy anything i want myself. Anybody who knows me knows that.
Regards the Bloomer heads, they hit the market several years ago, and by all accounts i have heard, didn't pan out.

Rod Bloomer owns Bloomer performance, and enlisted the help of several people in coming up with that head….. they didnt come up with a viable outcome….
Fast forward, and Rod’s brother Vic has now( and wasnt before) got involved in personally redoing this project from a clean sheet of paper.
The reason i “ crow” about this is because, unlike probably 98% of the people on this site, i know Vic personally, know he many years ago worked at Hughes as a head porter and developed stuff they still do( but not the bigmouth project)
Vic is probably the sharpest smallblock guy i have ever met( and i am old)..lol
He had nothing to do with the initial offering. He is a busy guy and his time is very valuable to him.
So the fact he spent two years of his spare time developing this new head, with many trips to the dyno and flow bench, tells me this head will be a winner.
Not to mention the fact i have already seen this head go 132 mph on a pump gas stroker that was still having teething issues after the heads were plopped on right before drag week.
So yea, i really pump them up because i am privy to info most here aren't. And saying so doesn't make me a dime.
Buy what you want. If i decide to upgrade my car, this is the way i would go. At my age, i may not, not sure yet. But anything Vic touches is gonna be very high quality.

A back story to a story we all witnessed ourselves already.

Magazines charge a lot for full page advertisements btw, you have almost 2 pages here and 3 other threads of your bloomer insertion ...but you wont start your own thread? Why? because it would be you post replying to yourself since the head isnt out yet. I know you're probably trying to do somebody a favor because those heads and that name took a hit, a hard-hit when they fell flat on their ******* face on a dynos around the country. If they fixed them, great, let the head speak for itself. Let it hit the market and earn its reputation like all the others. You shouldn't have come here and tickle everyone's dick in order for them to buy into it. It's fine when you make a thread informing..cause its intent is clear...but here and the other threads..you're hijacking and essentually undercutting. Reminds me of Tom Green following the pizza guy around town so he could run up on the patio and shove his ******* homemade pizza in front of the customer and say "here by mine it's way better, i promise".
That's where I'm coming from. Like cool thanks....Okay I said I'm good, thanks... hey can you fk off with your chiclets already paco..

There wasn’t anything more I could add to this post anyway without having the head for more testing. And honestly seeing the shortside I wouldn’t spend time reworking it anyway to try to calm it down. I do sleep on things and do further research so just for the heck of it let’s touch on the Edelbrock Victor head. I can’t believe I don’t have a set yet but that’s probably because I swear they quit producing them. Let’s break it down some

225 cc head (Airwolf 220)
2.150 intake valve (Airwolf 2.08)
Head roof raised 3/4 inch (Airwolf floor lowered)
16 degree valve angle (Airwolf stock )
.150 offset rocker (Airwolf stock)
American made (Airwolf, you know
Just to name a few

the head is out. Sets have already been sold. The first set i know of was on a Duster that completed drag week this summer. Plenty of people know what it ran, it isnt e secret. A poster on here has bought a set. This isnt something that isnt available, it is available right now. I have actually seen the head go down a track. People bought trick flow heads without that even being the case, or even dyno results….
Other sets were delivered to customers this summer at Monster Mopar.
I am very aware the initial Bloomer head was a dud…and said so. I dont owe Rod or anybody else anything. I respect him, because, like me, he has been a sponsor at Monster Mopar and gotten in his own wallet( like me) to further Mopar racing
The new head has nobody designing it that was involved on the first head. I think people don't understand this.
If you dont like what i post dont read it.
Not trying to piss anybody off. Just offer good info on a product i have some insight into. Others obviously dont
Its not like its a billion dollar business making a head virtually nobody has heard of in a very small market.
I urge people to buy what they want, nothing will make me a dime one way or the other no matter what they buy or dont buy

I for one would like to see a post about it and it alone. I’ve heard about it but it’s like a unicorn. No pictures, no flow numbers, not one single post with details. If they were sitting on a table at monster Mopar for sale and he was my friend I would snap some pictures and pick up some info on it and start a post so I could sell a few pairs for him. Why are some of you guys so afraid to start a post.

airwolf is a novelty, unicorn head. Only a few sets were made. They arent ever going to be in the hands of very many people. Its fun to mull over what they are( and arent) but they are in the rear view mirror of current options.
Seem to work very well though.

i know he delivered several pairs he had sold/ spoken for to customers at Monster Mopar but they werent at a table on display..or i would have taken pictures. They are hand finished with valve job before delivery to end user by Vic.
If anybody went back and read my posts pre Trick flow heads( and intake) being available, they would know i talked them up more than anybody on here..in fact was second in line to get a set and gave a poster on here my set when they got produced.
I support anything small block Mopar… people might complain i am a Trick flow salesman if they bother going back and reading some of those threads…
Like they now say i am a Bloomer salesman..
Found out long time ago, no matter how nice you try to be…always somebody out there……..

Vic is one of those guys it’s hard not to like. I’ve only really talked to him a few times at monster Mopar and part of that is my fault. I even paid in full for one year and got sick so I couldn’t go. I considered my paid entry a donation. Vic needs a spokesman because he’s on the quiet side from what I’ve seen. A smart move on his part would be to give you a set to be his spokesman and test subject so you could promote his product with time slips and weather conditions.

Vic isnt selling them. He just did/ does them for his brother( i have zero idea how he got talked into it)…lol
He ( Rod) gave the guy with the dragweek car a set to try.
The results are very easy to verify.
3200 ish pound 74 Duster, true pump gas stroker, victor intake, roller cam, went as fast as 132 mph this past summer during drag week, averaged 10.20’s with a mediocre( high 1.4xx) 60 foot and mismatched convertor. Car completed dragweek successfully. Once sorted out, that car should dip into the 9’s in good air on pump gas.
I have zero interest in peddling anything. I own a car lot, i am involved with that 6 days a week. What tiny bit of money could be made selling a few sets of heads(even if i was in the loop to do so, and wanted to, i am not) wouldnt be worth my time, frankly.
These heads arent an assembly line deal. Vic hand finishes and does the valve job himself on every set produced.
Its not a high volume deal. They arent cheap, trick flows are less, all said and done. Mopar people are cheap skates.
