Will dougs d453 headers fit on a mopar 360 magnum in a 1972 Plymouth duster. Manual transmission manual steering and brakes. If so has anyone done it and how did it go.

You'll need to modify your Z-bar. A mini starter helps with clearance but you can use a full size one with the manual trans. Other than the z-bar, my cast iron bell housing has some ears at the 3 and 9 o'clcok positions that need removed. Mine are still there but the headers touch them.

Only issue you may have is the wider pan rail of the 360 so someone should be able to speak to that.

(not trying to threadjack here...but)

should you run an right angle oil filter adapter with the dougies?
and what starters will work with them ? (hopefully something less expensive then the MP units dougs lists)

Not necessary to use a 90* filter adapter with d453. Run a std plate or canton with a shorty filter, wix 51068.

I use mini starters from the boneyards, about 20 max. The ones off V6 dakotas are great. I've also taken them off of 318/360 vans/pickups. They are better than the dinosaur, giant sized originals but don't have the cool starter sound. :(

For the OP, d453 work fine with that set up, check the z bar for any potential mods.

Are there any others that you would recommend over dougs.

Nope, only if you want to needlessly spend money.

Autozone with a 20% off code, D453's delivered to your door for about 500-550 depending on state tax.

Never an issue with aluminum bell. Depends on what you run.

tti's don't clear some bells and the z bar issue is the same.
