Drag Week Unlimited Duster

Every time I see open turbos like that I wonder what would happen if one sucked a bird or a rock in?

Nothing good I suppose, but my prochargers are gear driven off of the crank and I wanted to maximize air flow to them to make horse power so I'm willing to take the risk. But rest assure, those bad boys will be covered and disconnected while driving on the street. Something we engineered into this in the beginning...

It sounds better then in the videos lol Ive see it run . I cant wate to see it agin this year !

I haven`t seen it run since it was painted, and man I`m glad u didn`t paint it green!!! looks fantastic! looking forward to mopars @ the park in nov.
have u given any thot to some chrome old style headlight screens, about 1/2" squares? might keep some trash out of the turbos, and wouldn`t restrict air movement either, would be a shame for them to suck some thing up. (the 1st thing I think of when I see those openings. ---bob--------------------------------------:thumbup::thumbup:

Screens will only disturb the turbulent air flow my pro volutes create. That is why they are wide open for maximum flow. My prochargers will be disconnected for street use and I have lexan covers for them...

Will be at Thunder Valley this Friday and Saturday... Hopefully I will be making some license passes...
Will you be taking any videos?? or maybe not don't want to let Larson and crew see what they are gonna be up against?? I cant seem to get enough of seeing your car take off it sounds like a top fuel car with out the nitro flames.... IMO.

I'm sure I'll be posting some good Teasers... But yeah, I can't show my hand, but the unlimited class knows I'm coming... Larry came and checked me out @ the World of Wheels in Kansas City. He is a good guy but us young bucks have to keep him on his toes... lol

!!!UPDATES!!!

Got some really good testing in this past Saturday. We compiled lots of data and still have a few bugs to fix. Only made 1/8th mile hit because we were having some misfiring issue and thought the cause was from leaning out on the top end. Crazy thing is, on the engine dyno it ran perfect. On the chassis dyno it ran perfect. At the track we had one solid full power run and ran into some chassis tuning issues and I had to let off but you know I got back on it after straightening her out and she pulled harder than than the launch threw the lights. In all, this was a great test session and I'm extremely excited that we are coming up on this bad boy Duster tune. Special thanks to Jake @ Jake Performance Fabrication, Andrei and crew @ Abel Racing and Steve @ Steve Morris Engines for really coming through for me. Enjoy the videos...

Could not get the converter to lock up. Only made a pull to 7100 and the converter flashed to 6200... Was a good clean pull though. Time to get that timeslip...

After chassis dyno session we hit the streets but had to make a gas stop first...

Getting On the Interstate...

75mph @ 2400rpm's cruisin...

Nice burn out to start our day...

Motor ran the cleanest this pass. Most power I have ever felt. You can see we need some chassis tuning also probably over powered that track on that hit. There was some tire spin as seen from the smoke... [ame]http://youtu.be/qWB0ro1JDGw[/ame]

Bad burn out...
[ame]http://youtu.be/alSanXNtHGw[/ame]

Misfiring bad but still ran a 1.26 60ft and I cut off well before the 1/8th and clocked a 9.00 @ 105mph...
[ame]http://youtu.be/SL1wibDKZyw[/ame]

She pulled real hard to the center or could have been lined up just a tad left from center. Really, I think I might have jerk the wheel that direction. Still learning gents...

My track manager thinks I'm a power tour car. lol He still shows love though. Might have to turn your speakers up a bit. Oh yeah, still misfiring here also...
[ame]http://youtu.be/J5wVAaTEajQ[/ame]

Fastest 60ft 1.25
Fastest 1/8th 5.12 @ 117mph
Fastest 1/4 9.00 @ 105mph (Off the gas before the 1/8th)

What did it run on that last pass? Or did you cut the audio on purpose? :prayer:

Any car that coasts to a flat 9 in the quarter after lifting at the eighth is wicked fast.

Keep it safe, but keep the vids coming.

Regards,

Joe Dokes
