Ive been playing drums for nigh near 30 years now, and I've always loved Tama

When my boy got started playing a few years ago we bought him a Tama kit and cheapest double bass pedal money could buy

Well, that pedal held up remarkably well but it's on its last legs so wanted to buy a new, better pedal

I told him, buy once, cry once, get yourself a Tama iron cobra, get a 600 series so it's middle of the line and you should have one for decades

So, he spend $300 of his own money on it, and look at what crap that bought him

Whoever designed this (or should I say, redesigned, because my 20 year old pedal dosnt have this) decided the bass hoop clamp screw should be UNDER THE FOOTBOARD
Making it impossible for the beater head to contact the skin because the FOOTBOARD bottoms out on the screw

Retarded

Tama or Ludwig.

Something has to be wrong with that or they couldn't sell more than 2 or 3 of them without the villagers gathering at the gate with torches and pitchforks.

I am old enough to remember when Ludwig was the in thing. My friend had a butcher block kit that really boomed. Then was Tama, I think Stewart Copeland made them popular along with Paiste cymbals, not that they were not around before. My first kit was a blue sparkle Apollo from the late 60s and then in 2002 I bought a brand new Mapex kit which I still have today. It was a toss up between the TAMA I believe they were Imperialstars, but I got a better deal on the Mapex kit.

It doesn't look like a production error, this is a huge design flow

So, we send it back (and I will be emailing Tama about this too)

Ludwig's were awesome, specially the acrylic sets
