Duster front chin spoiler/ air splitter

They actually serve a really good purpose, even on mild vehicles. They push air back out in front of the car and into the grille through the radiator for better cooling.
Some of the newer Ram trucks have what they call an active air dam. Works in conjunction with the active grille shutters to maximize cooling efficiency. Computer controlled ,it lowers and raises when needed.RJ

Well that sounds about right! lol

That red Duster has an LS in it if it's the same one on Instagram. Uuggh!

Man that's just horrible.

I know, I'm trying to eat dinner....

The crap these subversive commie/ Nwo slime are doing,.ESPECIALLY, to the young, is sickening

Some people's kids. :(

Swapping a different brand motor always seemed stupid to me.
Even in race only cars.
How many thousands of Ford rods have SB Chevy's in um?

You guys are pathetic. How many threads are there on this board whining and crying about how the "hobby is dying" and how "kids these days won't learn any automotive skills" or don't enjoy the old iron.

And then a kid that is clearly interested in the hobby, drives an old Duster and shows imagination and more fabrication skills than most of you have shown recently and what do you do? You talk crap and call names. Typical cowardly keyboard warrior bullshit. You wanna know why the hobby isn't popular with the younger generations? Crap like this.

Who cares if it's an LS? He didn't just drop a stack of cash on a conversion kit, he reworked the entire K frame, welded it up and made his own mounts. I'd rather talk shop with that kid than any of you. And he's keeping the hobby alive by keeping that Duster on the road. I'd rather see that car out on the road with an LS in it than perfectly restored and parked in some purists garage 364 days out of the year. Guys that hate on the other car makes are just pathetic. They're all cars. Everybody has their favorites and their areas of expertise, sure. But all the stupid brand wars stuff is just weak.

Real hot rodding is about taking the best stuff you can get your hands on regardless of make or model and putting it all together to make the best performing car you can. Purists are the enemy of real hot rodding.

And in that vein, here's my Duster cloned Demon with a '69 Camaro spoiler to get back on topic.

Ok, Karen. You're underwear is on to tight. I recognize his talents but I still have a right as an American to say whatever the hell I like.
Thanks for the brutal honesty. While we're being honest. You have always come off as a prick when a tire fitment thread comes up. I rarely disagree with you but I can still think you're a d-bag who at least has knowledge of factory wheel fitments.
FYI, you burned the bridge between us. Not me. Remember that when I don't hold back on you when you're getting pissy in the next wheel thread.

There was a time i would have disagreed because I was a purist. But after watching that kid's channel I realize that kids now a days are trying their best with what they have and that isn't much.

I'm in the in between generation because I'm not old as dirt and talking about scoring Hemi cars in 80s for 50 bucks, nor am I damsel in distress and can't find a decent beak car for under 5k. I'm 35 and I got into the hobby at the right time when good stuff was still around and I had money.

Anyone in touch with reality will see the problems kids have now. I'm subscribed to that kid and cheer on his build and enjoy watching him grow into a mechanic with strong mopar influence.

First of all, I say barf to a lot of things. Broccoli for example . I say barf because it’s yet another LS swap. Not because the kid has no skills. Get over yourself.

second: I am FAR from a purist. I’ve demonstrated that time and time again.

third: one could say the very same thing as you when you put people on blast when they switch out to a coil over set up. You always go off on a tangent about how good the “stock” set up is while blasting anyone who has a differing opinion.

So while you’re trying to sit here and play mr knight in shining armor for this kid, you’re being quite the hypocrite as one could argue that you are infact the very “purist” you slam in the above post, especially regarding the torsion bar suspension.

you do have a vast amount of knowledge, I’ll give you that. But this post you made trying to call everyone out made you come off as a donkey’s fifth point of contact.

I agree 100% with all of this. I have respect for him, his car and his skills. I like the fact that he's still hotrodding. That doesn't mean I have to like the dog **** off his shoe liking how he did it. I can like all of what I said and still not like his choice of drive trains. That's my right without some prick calling me pathetic over the internet that probably doesn't have the sack to even look me in the eye.

Agreed. But there’s a difference between understanding and encouraging such and actually liking it. Will I ever discourage anyone from building whatever they can when it comes to a car? Absolutely not.
Will I like everything someone does to a car, hell no. Do I expect everyone to like what I do to my car, no. Does that mean that I think that anyone who doesn’t like my car is a “pathetic keyboard warrior”? Hell no.

Not because the kid has no skills..
The kid is 17 years old, what kind of skills do you expect him to have. Not everyone is born with mad skills.

I don't know about everyone else but my first car build wasn't any kind of barret Jackson car. In fact I messed it up so bad I had to redo it but that's how you learn.

I messed up a lot of stuff on my first car and grew from it.

I never ever said he didn’t have any or that I expected him to have any. Re-read what I posted. Not just one sentence.

And you should know more than anyone that I fully admit I’m no where near as skilled as most on this forum. I won’t ever criticize someone’s else skills.

Geez the reading comprehension in this thread is seriously lacking.

Of course he has skills. Evidently, pretty good ones. I wanna see what he's like in ten more years.....even if he's still LSing. I have respect, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

here I’ll break it down Barney level.

I did not say barf because I was criticizing his skills, I was saying barf because it was yet another LS swapped Mopar.

1st comment, I Myself, I was actually eating dinner, I thought it was funny. But that's shot to **** now. My 2nd, comment, and (Not Speaking for Go-Fish, but his was also), taken Way outta context there. We went off in Socio- Political land, (no jabs at the youngin' Someone is obviously teaching the kid some killer stuff) no matter if it's his Dad, Uncle, or the Old Outlaw Biker up the road...

I'm not a huge fan of the final product either, but at least the kid is out hotrodding in his garage. He could be inside playing video games or doing some other stupid mindless ****. This hobby would be awfully boring if all our cars were the same.

Exactly, I wish I got in it at that age, instead of music...
I did, I just had very limited funds and tooling. And even less support. Hell, I use to save my lunch money, eat on <2 bucks a day for lunch so I could put the other 20 towards parts for my w200. Should have seen the look on the Deans face when I walked to autozone and bought my first glass packs and carried them back to school, rode the bus home and told mom they were a roll of stickers haha

Same thing here.My Mopar support group was other kids, my age, broker than me, nobody really had money. But, Let me tell Ya, Man, things have been funky here (lol too much stress), I just laughed my *** off, first time today! Excellent Story Thanks!

It was a pair of Thrush Glasspacks. Had the words “FREE STICKER” on the box. So I made sure to carry them inside off the bus with that side of the box facing mom.
