I believe it's largely in the head prep. Good valve job and some porting. And the parts have to work together. Too often people install the wrong cam with a given compression ratio.

Agree, I'm making 602hp at low RPM with a street friendly cam. IQ52 heads... Heads are everything.

252@.050, .650 lift, 112LSA.
