Admin has stated they would make a sticky for early A-body headers. There is a sticky for Spitfires, but I that's a dated thread and with the current front runners being Doug's and TTI; a new thread seems fitting. Since headers for early A-body cars are so specific, I figured the Early A-body Discussions would be a better home for the thread than the Exhaust section.

I believe it would be helpful if we stated all the current brand offerings, including part numbers. If you have experience with one of the brands, it would be helpful to have detailed input on your installation process with accompanying photos.

With the current pricing on early A-body headers being over the $1k mark; I think we all want to weigh everyone's experience with the various brands before making our own choice.

Hooker race headers modding for narrow A. 1.85" od runners 3" collectors. You need to cut and weld almost all the runners to shoe horn into narrow A but the bones are there. Huge ports and runners probably high winding 340 or stroker class. FYI my Hooker SC 5208's (?) were drilled 318 port size so if your putting them on 340/360 heads check the port alignment! I sent the burned gaskets to Hooker and they told me they drilled the flange wrong but wanted a receipt to exchange them for proper new ones, This was after running them 2 years and replacing 2 sets of gaskets already. Lifetiie guarantee on manufacture defect WITH RECEIPT?? BS. sold them.

There was a sticky for the 5208s but it got unstuck at some point.

I'm running TTI's on my 65 Barracuda (360,11.5 bell and a 833) and they do fit like a very tight glove. They do seem to fit a bit tighter to the floor than the Dougs, This comparison was on a 66 Valiant (360 727). For the Barracuda I did buy the complete exhaust kit and was very happy with the fitment, but a big thing about the TTI's is they have to be used with an expensive mini Starter if you are using a 727 or 11.5 bell. And the TTI's are more money to begin with. Both cars had new Schumacher mounts in them.
