[WANTED] early A driveshaft

Just finishing up installing 8 3/4 rear in 65 Signet- has stock 273 and 904 trans.
Have to have driveshaft shortened.

Long shot I know- but - anyone in Mid Atlantic region with one already shortend- like to sell?

I think it will need to be shortened 2.28 inches-

Has anyone completed this and remember?

How much play do you have in trans for slip in? Seems like there should be a little variance to allow some movement?

Hope to get it right the first time when done

To confirm measurement for driveshaft-
Car sitting on ground on tires?
or, with rear jacked up?


Measurement from center of front universal to center of rear universal location in rear?

Stock 65 904 had a B&T front joint. It sounds like you are saying you have a slip yoke in the trans. Which do you have/need?

Yes- my stupidity- It has the stock B@T in front-
My thought was if I do a conversion- like that has been posted here-not sure which way to go yet- still finishing rear- want to do only once-
