I am so stupid.... but look for yourself:

Is it OK? No! It isn't :violent1:
At any time I might be wanting to put sparkplugs in ...

So do it again, stupid!

That was a timekiller. But I could get the collectorside ready, too.

Looks a little bit strange, but the remaining pipes at the collector gave me their way:

I cut them apart again and gave them to a friend, who can professionally weld the gaps. After that, I only have to weld them together (as good as I can :D)

Now I have to do a little break with the project, because I want to get the 1962 Dart road worthy.

See you!

That is actually pretty killer. Keep it up! I got a pretty good laugh out of that lol

Amazing work, but one question. If you weld them solid, how do you get them on and off?

...once I got them welded... I will need a good set of cutting wheels

Hi sven, i ve got two lightly used 175/70-14 tires that you can have for free if you want.....time to make some donations for el cheapo ;-))

Michael

Thank you, Michel! But I already have a set of 165/70.

They are really small 8-[
but give me the clearance.

At the end of the summer, I could finish my work on the 1962. It is now registered and on the road

So back to El Cheapo

20140510_153123.jpg

First I installed subframe connectors to improve rigidity. I made them of cheap 2/2"

20141028_184556.jpg

Then we wrenched all the parts off to flip the body for some minor cosmetics :D

Now some hard work had to be done...

Sven. It's Gr8 to see your El Cheapo project here on FABO. Keep up the good work my friend & stay on the Astra. You are a very ill man.
All the Best. Gaz. :prayer:

This took soooo long. Don't know why. It just took so long...

arks...

20141116_165620.jpg

But the really dirty work was done at some day

20141127_184735.jpg

brushing and cleaning

20141231_132819.jpg

EP-ground

20150125_165300.jpg

And some body coloured paint

No way the hood will go on the Dart again like this

20150212_175157.jpg

It had to become lighter and should get rid of this shitty chebby black out

20150212_191743.jpg

I made the opening bigger, so I can build an aluminum-plate with holes for the two inlets

20150221_162425.jpg

To lift the hood at the rear, I welded two profiles on it. With this new mounts the rear will be raised about an inch

20150309_201447.jpg

more to come...

Few weeks later, the paintwork was done. This really was a lot of work...
20150414_204045.jpg

And I got the parts for a Sedan-Conversion
20150513_120318.jpg

With this conversion I wanted to reduce some weight

Headliner had to go

and I started the work on a 6pt Roll Cage

If everything works fine, this GT will be a Sedan within the next few days :)

Is it just me or is there a problem with installing those headers once they are welded together? Aside from that das ist wunderbar!
