getting ready to switch engines in my 1965 cuda, someone told me there is a motor mount problem going from 273 to 340.has any body run into this problem( thanks)

Yup, you need to section the drivers bracket (narrow it) and move a tab or two depending on which engine block you're using.

You dont NEED to move anything, Just bolt old ones onto the frame, drop the 340/360 in and shim the driver side gap you get with 4-5 washers.

If you don't like multiple washers, Ace carries spacers that work well for alternators too. You can even get chrome if you want some flash.

The right side mount needs an ear cut and welded to the other side of the mount. The left side just needs a spacer.

Just add a 3/4" nut to upper driver's side bolt, as a spacer.
That works on the left but what about the right. Without cutting the one ear and moving it to the other side to re-weld it you will end up with only two ears bolted to the mount.

Yes, your right but you still have 2 mount points. 3 is better, but 2 is all a motor needs per side. A 273 is not going to pull an ear off the block with its massive torque. These are for a 403 stroker

The OP said he is going from a 273 to a 340 therefore he needs to do as you pictured to keep it 3 bolts on the right mount.
