fake money

-
i feel kinda bad bcoz this morning i went to a gas station near by and i got some water bottles and some other misc. stuff .....when i was getting my change back the cashier man gave me fake money as change.

i asked him why he gave me fake money and he said that i need to take it....he was very rude and aggitated and seemed like he didnt want it back.

so im not going to argue with a man like that ...so i just left but i feel bad bcoz i want my money and i dont know if i should call the cops over 2 dollars change but i still feel violated.

what should i do ...and has anyone else ever been given fake money for change on a small amount.

the fake money is same color and size so if your not paying attention no problem it could pass but if you read what it says .....its clear as day ...isnt it illeagal to make fake money ?

Yep they still print em too. I can get these at my bank. My friend used to get them and give em out to the dancers at the local nudie bar. They loved em.

I had gotten the susan b anthony $1 coins back as change too. They are shaped like quarters , most folks didnt know they were dollars.

Now if its a 3 dollar bill with bill clintons face on it, then walk away LOL

I used to give them as tips to cute waitresses and woman bartenders so they'd remember me. :)

So, did this work???!!!

Psssssst Sherry ... I have to guess you haven't seen Joe's picture yet. Trust me woman, the ladies have NO trouble remembering him whether $2 bill tips are involved or not. :-D

And Winston {shakin' my head here LOL} ... the "Queen Elizabeth" sized quarters you mentioned earlier are actually Susan B. Anthonys. It was only made for 4 years (1979-1981, and again for a short run in '99) and commemorated women's suffrage and the Apollo 11 mission.

I have some "funny money" :glasses7:

Thanks for posting that pic of the $2 bill with Ivy Baker Priest as the Treasurer of the United States, 66340SEDAN. Brought back lots of memories!
I was just 7 years old when my dad died. A couple of years later my mom and I took a train trip from SoCal up the west coast, across Canada, down the east coast to Washington D.C., and back across the U.S. to home. While in D.C. we stayed with my mom's cousin and her husband - he was fairly high up in the State Dept at the time. One of the high points of the trip was visiting the Treasury Dept., visiting with Ivy Baker Priest in her office and getting a personal tour of the printing operations by the Treasurer of the United States at the time. She had been my mom's Sunday School teacher at church when my mom was growing up in Utah. She also got a couple of brand new uncirculated $1 bills and autographed them above her printed signature for me. My mom "put them away in a safe place" when we got home so they wouldn't get spent. I have no idea what happened to them as they were never found when going through my mom's things when she passed away.
Here's something a little interesting: Ivy Baker Priest was the mother of Pat Priest, an actress best known for playing Marilyn Munster in the '60s tv show The Munsters.

Just took the family out to dinner for my sisters birthday. The waitress took good care of us,(and she was cute, too) so she got 6 of them. Sure hope she knows what a $2 bill is.

The big Edward's/IMAX theater here still uses them regularly, its the only place in town you can get them. I see them around town though, its rare, but I do get them as change.

Its real Rannydart70. The 2 dollar bills have been stopped as far as regular production. They do reprint them from time to time to replace damaged ones. The last printing of new 2 dollar bills was in 2003. They may do it again as they get damaged and need replacing.
The US treasury also used different color seals as well not just green. They used red and blue seals as well. Here is an example of a 1928 $2 dollar bill with a red seal. The most common 2 dollar bills are the re-issues of the bi-centennial (1774-1976) 1976 issue commemorating independence.

Here is a little info.

They print $2 bills from time to time...
From the U.S. Treasury’s website, we find that $2 bills were only printed for a few years between 1980 and 2006. There were printings in 1996, 1997, 2004, and 2006.

2003 is not in that list, but that doesn’t mean that the bill you saw was a fake. The year printed on money isn’t necessarily the year that the money was printed. Rather, it’s the year of the last time the design of the bill changed, also called the series number. Most of the time, this happens because the Secretary of the Treasury or the Treasurer of the United States changes, so the old signature is replaced with a new one.
