I had another fun weekend with the '69 Dart, I took this car for no good reason except that the '64 Grüne Hölle Dart is Broken. :-(

I was headed to Vintage Restorations Ltd, in Union Bridge, MD for their Open House / Car show.
My Friend's family owns the shop and their primary business in in vintage British / imported cars, but All makes and models are welcome.

I decided to take US 40 From About Uniontown, PA to Hagerstown, MD as I had some business to attend to in Waynesboro, PA before heading to the show.
the Route:

I was taking the Old Alignment of US40 / National Road through Maryland which is signed a few different ways..
It may be known / signed as:
US 40
US 40 ALT
US 40 Scenic
MD 144

Much Of the Route Runs Parallel to I 68 and I70 in Maryland, and It Goes up and down over the ridges instead of cutting through the mountain like the interstate near it.

Some Highlights:

Got to the Show, and for a small show it was fantastic with an eclectic mix of cars and people.

It was a fantastic weekend for a fall drive.

Yes... there are some great 2-lane routes along the mason-dixon. A fun drive is 220 South out of Bedford, PA. Roll it south as far as you want into WV and VA.

Great pictures!! Sometimes I miss my old stompin' ground. I was born and raised in Waynesboro, PA. For the "Senior Trip" five of us hiked the Appalachian Trail from Harper's Ferry WV back to Waynesboro. Took us four days to hike across Maryland.

Thank you, I do need to Drive US 220 To VA / Roanoke Someday, From my place to US220 is only ~80 Miles so I will try it sometime.

I have Driven some sections of 220 in WV where it's concurrent with US 33 for a bit, but it was not much.

Thanks!

Awesome, Thanks - there are some MoPar and Racing friends that I get to visit a few times a year in the Quincy / Mont Alto Area.

Now you have to do a senior Hiking trip from Georgia to Waynesboro..

Nice pics,
caught the Corvette crew all tucked in getting their sleepy time, awww.

Yeah, only this time it would be "Senior Citizen" hiking trip, lol.

My best friend Kim Roberts lives in Tomstown now, but lived in Mont Alto many years. I've been gone so long I've forgotten most of the folks there. Lots of good car guys there. Gordy Foose took me to the original Manheim auto auction in York to by my first car, a 1972 Duster!!!

Another drive I've done up your way is Route 31... West Newton to Bedford

This right here is my favorite use for a Mopar, old or new.

Very nice. Be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous.

Yes I have Done that as well when going to Carlisle. It's a fun Drive, A bit out of my way but the Section from Somerset to Manns Choice is A blast, Open Speed sections with more wildlife and farm animals than cars or people.

I stopped at one point along there to wrangle a horse that was in the highway and get it back into the adjacent pasture.

Jensen hiding behind Camaro? Not many places You can call out a row of cars, "VW Bus, Lotus Esprit, Mercury Cougar" in a row, lol! Nice show!
The Silver car behind the Camaro was not a Jensen...
It was an Alfa Romeo of some sort...

10-30-23:

Well I did it again a few weeks ago, sort of.

I must confess I did use the interstate as I had the "Disco Wagon.. which is my F body Family Hauler, and It is all stock 'cept for the wheels. Yes it still has the factory thermoquad and the Lean Burn System. It's great on the hiways with the 2.41:1 Gears, but not so much in the mountains - lots of manual downshifting to "2" on the 904 selector.

We explored Catoctin Mountain National Park, Cunningham Falls, and the Greater Waynesboro Area around Camp David, MD.

We started out Saturday Morning around 06:00 - quite a feat to get the girls in the car and on the move that early.
It rained through all of the elevation gain to and past our highest point, Keysers Ridge in Maryland where we stopped for breakfast.

10-30-23 Continued:

On the return trip we did take a bit of MD-144 / US 40 Scenic for a while.
We stopped at the Town Hill Bed and Breakfast for a picnic. It was cold and windy, but at least the rain had ended.

Yes, sir, I would love to see Raven Rock! It did not happen on this trip, but we drove right past it on the MD Route 550.
