Will a Fast ratio pitman arm fit with Doug's headers? I'd hate to have to spend the money on a Flaming River or Bogeson (sp?) fst ration box.

Is it fast ratio manual or fast ratio power. The fast ratio manual gets it's increased ratio from internal gearing in the box. So it's looks and fit the same on the outside as any other manual box

The fast ratio power steering gets it's increase in ratio only from the length of the pitman arm. It' about 1 1/2" longer. In an 67-76 A-body there are no small block headers that fit a fast ratio power steeering pitman arm.

Well, Firm Feel says it will fit The manual box? I know you can change the actual gear ratio witha box change, but If I can run the arm, that would be easier and cheaper.

"Firm Feel's new Fast Ratio Pitman Arms are forged similar to the T/A Challengers and AAR Cuda's. This changes your stock steering into fast ratio steering. Your stock power steering ratio is 16:1, (3 1/2 turns lock to lock), with the fast ratio pitman arm your ratio is ~ 12:1, (2 3/4 turns lock to lock). These arms fit your power steering (and manual steering) with either SMALL OR LARGE SECTOR."

The longer pitman arm will fit the manual box. But it's not going to fit a small block with headers.

The Firm Feel site says the longer pitman will not fit an A-body car with any brand of headers except Schmacker Tri Y's header with a big block.

You can run hi po 340 exhaust manifold BUT you will have to run a custom made headpipe and maybe mini starter to make room for the headpipe getting shoved back. The new headpipe needs to go rearward RIGHT after the gasket flange. You need an experienced muffler shop with some patience and ability to be creative. There's usually at least one in every area.
