Fiat + Chrysler

All that really matters to me is that they keep Mopar Performance Parts going.
Seems most dealerships can care less about them.

And both daily drivers are Toyotas, built in America. In my opinion, most dependable cars on the road.

Owned a Dodge Ram 360 truck, new from the dealership. Loved the truck, but had to replace the tranny within 2 months.:angry7:

The biggest difference is in the dealerships and service quality

now that i totally agree with. atleast in my experience anyway. the jap dealers seem to actually care about you being pleased when you leave there unlike the big 3 dealers that you have to fight with over everything. like i said in my experience anyway.

I think It Sucks that an American company has to join forces with a non American company to survive.

You do realize that this is nothing all that new, right? The big three have been intertwined with foreign auto companies for years.

define good gas mileage. my lil toyota gets an honest 40 mpg in the summer months weather i'm running the a/c or have the windows open. the winter time gas drops the mileage to somewhere near 35-37mpg. to me thats good mileage but think in 2009 just about all cars shoudl do atleast that. the smaller ones should be getting more.

Read my posts, I already stated the mileage I get. if you are happy with driving a slug and getting a handful more miles per gallon, well that's great for you. I don't want a car that goes 0-60 eventually.

Yes,but the company that built my truck bought another automaker not vise-versa,which is a big difference..and they DID'NT need any of that bailout money either, and the chances of them being around in 2 years are a LOT greater then the new fiat-mopar..:bootysha:

what of that junk do you want to stick around?

Where is Joe,and what have you done with him ? LOL

Actually, there is a whole catalog of junk I'd like to keep around, rather than the junk coming out of there dealerships. 8)

Did you read what Bill Ford Jr had to say about turning down the government loans? I guess not. He said that it is basically a political ploy to try to fool people into thinking that they are doing just fine. They are relying on loans without government backing. Understand?

DEARBORN, Mich. — By shunning government loans, Ford Motor Co.'s top executives say they hope to buff up the automaker's image and set it apart from its cash-starved Detroit competitors, General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC.
GM and Chrysler are in desperate need of government money and may not last until the end of the year without it. But Ford set up $23.5 billion worth of credit in 2006, and both Chief Executive Alan Mulally and Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr. told The Associated Press on Tuesday they are confident that the borrowing, coupled with restructuring and new product plans, will get them through the recession without relying on the government.
Ford even said the century-old company that bears his family's name might be able to use the independence from loans to its advantage.
"I think if they see Ford as a company trying to pull itself up by its own bootstraps, and making it on its own and pulling the right levers, I think that could be a positive for us," Ford said.

Most likely you can.
I don't have any plans to buy any new cars any time soon. I have only bought two new ones in my life. One was a 91 Firebird....mistake! The other was the 04 Neon SXT....great car!

Ya ok. How many MP parts you running on your car? O thats right just about all the parts on your car.

don't buy anything from them. not in years. not sure what mp crap could be left on my car. nothing in the suspension, nothing in the ignition system, nothing in the motor, oh i think i may have one mp part on my car. the 5.0 kickdown leaver in the trans. pretty hard for them to screw that up.. allot of the stuff they sell is someone elses stuff just mrked up. i can find that stuff elsewhere.

Yup same ol' best selling truck for 30 plus years..some people know the right truck to buy...

Right, the Escort was a best seller too. LOL
When you just about give them away and finance anyone who will sign up, it aint hard to sell a bunch of them.

P.S. Does everyone remember the Mexican lug nut recall? The wheels were literally falling off going down the road! Reminds me of the Edsel.
