Not sure how often they show up in this condition but they have been wrapped in garbage bags since 1986. I was looking for an extra Power Steering cap in my piles storage when these things caught my attention.... Plum forgot all about them. So what are the chances of them actually working even 50% right if I throw them on an engine lol.... Both are for 72's and one is auto and the other manual.

I think 72 was a bad year for the mixture screws. They were different from all other years. They were air screws only. I have never run one, so can't say for sure it was 72.

I am not sure. The one for my car is off a 400 which I need to put a kit in and don't know much about these things but they sure sound good when you drop the hammer down lol.... Isn't the 71 model the most desirable?

Yes, the 71s are basic power makers
I too love the TQ moan.
I put one on a stock 1973 318,into my 68 Barracuda, with headers. I couldn't get enough of it. I put 2.73s behind it and a 2800 tc and a manual shift VB. Then I bammed it into third by 20 and let her moan. Those gears were good to over 140 mph, (course the teener couldn't get there),but it was one continuous moan from 20 to whatever, lol. I still almost giggle out loud, just remembering it.

A J ur thinking 71 as they are what's called a solid fuel carb. And yes most desirable and most expensive cause of the 1 year only model. Kim

I am lol myself right now..... I remember my dad getting crazy good gas mileage with this car when it was the stock drivetrain and 3:23's with the auto TQ in the picture. Baaaaaaawaaaaaaa lol....

The less emissions equipment on it the better. They all make right around the same power, solid fuel metered or not.

I would just throw one on an engine and see if it works or not.

Gonna do just that this week and see what happens lol....

72 was the best. 72 up are solid fuel. 71's are air mixed. Never had a problem with 72 or 71. Great find! 71's are big money, 72 and 73 are good money. All three years are exceptional runners.

No, that was 71.

If you want to get rid of the manual transmission carburetor, I might be interested.

What ya got to trade? You wouldn't happen to have a set of 72 Valve Covers in really good shape would you?

JW

Naw, I sure don't. I have several nice Edelbrock carburetors though. All clean cores. That's about all the trade fodder I have.
