I have a 70 Dart with 440. Drag car only, Coil over ladder bar rear, car weighs about 2800 lbs. I have stock front shocks now and they are shot. What shock would you recommend to use? Would like adjustables.

I bought a set of Strange 10 position adjustables for my 71 duster they are a nice aluminum rebuildable shock.

yes...we are using the CE 3 way shocks.....

Is your car hooking up...not spinning tires ?

I have a set of front comp engineering shocks on this Duster. They are a cheap way to get a 90/10 up front. Typically they are too fast on extension to give you much control over the front end and not stiff enough to keep the front end from settling giving you a nice seesawing effect going down the first couple hundred feet of the track. It all depends on how fast you want to go. 11's and 12's or above comp engineering will get er done. 10's or faster, gonna need a real shock

Got 71 Dart with CE shocks has run 10.30s...does not see saw down the track......

just put Viking double adjustable shocks on front of 71 Duster...did not make a difference than the CE shocks that were on it.....maybe I am missing something beside the money in my wallet...?

Here's a before and after. C/E vs Vikings. 3-4 on rebound and 10-12 on compression. Mine are actually the Viking Crusader line. Yeah it's a Chevy, "Moper" will get real shocks when it deserves them.

want spend money....buy a set of upper control arms with heim joints...and adjustable strut rods.....will give you more weight transfer...

yes...you can get more control over the front end with the adjustable shocks...but we have no idea from the original poster was to what his car does launching....

you can change the setting from 90/10 to 70/30 to lessen the wheel stand with the CE....

Not having any spinning issues. Just looking to upgrade front shocks from wore out factory ones. Car runs mid 10s.

Tnts72. Which picture is which shock?

1969fish have any pics of your car? do you race it at Ozark international raceway? The reason i ask is becasue i live down by Fort Leonard wood and i might have a set of the comp 3 way shocks you can have. that is if i can find them.lol i think they was brand new when i took them off my 73 duster i bought.let me go see if i can find them.

well i just found the ones i was talking about and i don't think you would want them. the chrome shafts are rusty. but you can still have them if you want them.

Bottom picture is the Vikings, I wanted a tighter shock to keep the car from pulling the wheels. The old comp shocks were too loose and not stiff enough on compression. Car is faster in the 60 foot now because the car is moving forward vs upward

My car has the CE 3 ways and has been 1.38 60 several times, no porpoising.

Mopar65. How bad are they? Lol. Yea we all run no e at ORP. I just got my car together towards the end of last year. Just made test and tunes with it.

I had a best 60 ft of 1.35 with the stock front shocks on my D50. It would carry the wheels about 40 ft. then come down and bounce and carry them probably 10 more ft. I bought the Caltrak front shocks and they are too loose going up and down. Now it carries them about 3 ft. off the ground for about 30 ft. I want to get the Viking shocks so i can adjust them tighter.

Cool looking car you have. would like to hear the details about it. i have race at that track in over 3 years. i used to race my 73 big block dart there. what were your times? i think they can be polished but you would have to decide if it was worth it. also i think these are the summit brand of the comp 3 way shocks. here is a link. to the ones i have. also i don't think these shocks were used bolted on the car and sat out side for a few years. i will try and get you some pics of them Monday.

also calvert is so posed to make some nice 90/10 shocks for the abody.

Thanx. Sounds good!

Does anyone know what the stock front shock comp/reb ratio is? Just out of curiosity. It was a factory 340 car.
