I caught that. I would expect the Dart to be heavier. Stronger/thicker in places that need it. Going back to the LA small block realm, the R blocks and Ritter blocks are heavier than a standard block. For very good reason. I looked at that block at PRI two years ago. Impressive, impressive price too I'm sure. Stock gen 3 block can handle a good bit. Most guys probably won't"need" the Dart block. It's awesome to see the availability!
 
We just put a Ritter block into our 73 Roadrunner J/SA as
we have used up our R stuff.

Only real strange thing was no on Oil provision on the back of
the block. I think Jon had to pick up the oil pressure inside the Bell housing
area.
 

The boost guys will like the new block.

It seems I read somewhere years ago that the R1’s were around 240#, about the same as a 400 block.
 
I figure it’s probably the best way around the lifter issues that seems to be inherent in the third Gen design. But it’s really not a problem if you get the rpm up often enough during regular usage to keep the top end lubed up, though.
