And only related 'cause I tossed in the glovebox at some point.
I think this came off the column under the dash.
Don't think its original. Car had an aftermarket A/C installed before 1970. Could have been from that work.

Those cards were standard on all 67 Chrysler products.

Our 67 had it, altho it was cracked in a few places. Replaced it with another original from barracudakid when I had dash powdercoated.

They were used on early A’s as well and probably 68-later. Can’t remember if our 70 had one.

It looks like vinyl flooring or seat material, where on the column was it?

I have a letter from Chrysler from 9-1970 stating that it was no longer required to use only Chrysler authorized maintenance and repair to keep your warrant in tact. That would suggest that 70 would be first year not to have them. I would assume if you have a 68,69 glove box door and it has 4 holes in about the same location it had one, no holes would suggest it didn't have one.

I think it was wrapped over the expanded sheet metal or the wire cable itself right next to it. I didn't pay it much attention until it was on the floor. LOL.

You're right, it could be some sort of early vinyl for floors or ? The backing is not very flexible - some sort of built up paper or fiber mix.
This car still has a newspaper clipping taped to the sunvisor. "What to do in case of an accident." That I'm not as partial to as the remnants of the Bola Tie Society of Arizona sticker. But I can't be troubled to remove it and then deal with the old adhesive.

Maybe someone put it in cause of an air leak thru the steering column?

I found a couple of my dad's business cards under the carpet. Put them right back where i found them.

Unfortunately lost his parking sticker from the rear glass when top was replaced

That's cool you found the cards. I assume you have at least one saved elsewhere. I just came across a couple of my dad's I had forgotten about.

The rolled material came from where the arrow points. Maybe stuffed there to reduce the chance of wires rubbing against the expanded sheet metal?
Was that harness originally wrapped in tape?

Looks like the turn signal wires should be covered (partially) except the orange wire.

Look what else saved from around the steering column.
This black paper was also wrapped around the inner portion -this more likely to have been original - but I don't know.

While going thorugh boxes, took this out to see if all the pieces were there.
                  Almost but not quite. :(

Its funny. That one just fell apart within the first year I aquired the car. Hardly touched. IIRC I just started to unscrew it and shattered.
That brown may be one year only.
I may try to glue it together and then infil the missing area with pieces of another broken one. Then color the infill to match best I can.
More likely I'll do nothing but I like idea of trying to save it. :realcrazy:
