I Have A 78 440, I Was Thinking About Bolting On A Set Of 516 Closed Chamber Heads To Increase The Compression And A New Cam, Would This Work Or Would I Run Into A Problem.

You could. I wouldnt bother, just put in a cam. They have smalelr chambers, but they are an early port design, and have tiny exh valves from the factory. I think it would be a wash if you put them on and expected a lot.

The 516 head has a 1.60 EX Valve.A 906 head has a 1.74 EX Valve. So the 915 has the smaller exhaust valve than a better head. The intake valave sizes are the same.I think I would just leave the 1978 head on the 440 I do not see much of a gain.Best bet is to put some higher compression pistons in the 440.
