My Duster has a factory passenger side mirror and it is further back on the car than the driver's side one. If someone is on your rear 1/4 panel to your right or behind that, you can see them in the mirror. Seems like it works okay to me...
the passenger door mirror on my Stealth is over 4" farther back than the driver side one. Whatever makes it function I guess. There is/was one picture from a magazine on the web of a 67 notch that shows a right mirror mounted ( I assume it was factory ). The left mirror on 67 are positioned different from 68 and later if that makes a difference. Anyway...That camera view shows It wasn't positioned the same as left mirror.
The previous owner put a passenger side mirror on the car. Which is useless, but even more so, on a big glass barracuda. He must have been blind in his right eye to not be able to see the expanse of the road behind him
Agreed. They don't work well at all but damn, they look good! lol
We need to try one of those "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" mirrors.
I certainly never knew this!!! My 70RR had a right side mirror, and from what I remember (1971--7?) it worked just fine!!!!
other way around for me....70 Charger useless....68 Barracuda I can see the Charger so that I don't hit it backing out of garage.
That's a great shot of your car, mike. I love it.
reading this w/ interest:Thanks Rusty. I added it for looks and balance. I can see a little out of it which is a bonus. I am used to my tool truck where you use your mirrors a lot. I was missing that on my 66. I bought a right hand adjustable one for my 70. It will be a welcome addition if I can stand to drill the holes in the door and inner panel. lol
Slantsixdan had a few for sale a month ago here.reading this w/ interest:
personally, I would like to have good mirrors that I can use, having a stiff neck from being broke in 3 places. seems like I remember a Plymouth fury w/ cable operated pass. mirror, control was in the center of the dash where the driver could reach it. seems like ?? or maybe not ! :coffee2:
