The 71 Dart also has ladder bars, coil over shocks, narrowed 8 3/4 and is tubbed.

Tony,

How hard did the connectors hit the Floor Pans using the 2"? Did you need to massage the floor pans to get them to line up with the front connection? Mine using 1.5" was really tight.

I thought of using one of these, saw it in harbor freight for under ten bucks, it is call a contour gauge. Thought about using it to get the shape of a section of the floor from underneath, transfer it to cardboard to make a template, then another section of floor and transfer to template, until I have the whole floor section, frame rail end to frame rail end. then transfer the template to the steel and cut it out...viola homemade sub frame connectors and they are custom fit for your car.......or so it seems to be a valid idea...

they are press right against the floor pan...i spotted welded the floor in a couple of places.... I also tied the roll bar into the subframe connectors ...

There was a great tech article on them at bigblockdart.com...basically followed that.

Thats not a bad plan and a pretty nifty tool. I was thinking about just rigging up a sharpie to a wheel of sorts and just simply rolling the wheel along a cardboard template taped to the front and rear subframes. Would need to be a smallish wheel about 2-3 " curcumference.

Pick up an inexpensive "contour" gage at a hardware or lumber store. You'll have to measure in short 6 inch sections but it will be a perfect fit.

Hoosier dart, good idea! I've never actually seen one in a hardware store, but I've never truly looked either!

How does the car drive with them on? Noticiable difference good and solid?

I did mine like Mad Dart also. Very simple project(I am by no means a fabricator). It makes ALL the difference in the world. Handles and drives like a whole new car, even fixed squeaks and rattles!! By FAR the least expensive and best mod I've done to my car(69 BB B'cuda) Do it...you wont be sorry!!
