Typically we do the great majority of Defensive pistol work at seven to ten yards, because that is the distance 99% of the defensive pistol engagement happens at in our Country. The Bill drill is really all about speed and utilizing your bodies kiniesitic (sp?) allignment. There is no aiming.Had to google Bill Drilll. Man, I've been practicing WAY too far out there. LOL! Got the Griz out here ya know.
The last pictureRunning a bunch of steel targets for the competitive shooters. Folks much prefer ringing steel to shooting paper. Hopefully the range will slow down a bit now that winter is closing in. I am ready for some rest. My Chief keeps pimping me out for Executive protection gigs so I have been burning the candle at both ends. It is taking a physical toll on me as I sit in a chair today with ice pak on my knee.

I just got back from hunting in NE Missouri near Bowling Green and it was 76 degrees on opening day. Cooled down for Sunday a bit but nothing was moving.I’m living overseas but my friends and family back in MO say the weather is garbage for hunting this year. As the weird guy who has never owned a 30-06, I’ve killed deer with .223, .243, 6.5cm, .270, 30-30, .308, and 35. All did the job but will concede .223 isn’t ideal. Hope you guys land some big bucks this year.

Man that’s too bad about the lack of movement.I just got back from hunting in NE Missouri near Bowling Green and it was 76 degrees on opening day. Cooled down for Sunday a bit but nothing was moving.
Regarding the 30-06 I think it's fair to say it is the Chevrolet of the cartridge world. The .243 is a Ford and of course, the .280 Remington is the bad *** Mopar.
I just always have to have something different.
I’ll admit that I’ve been burned by my stubbornness. I flew in to St. Louis from California to go hunting with my brother up at Kirksville 20 years ago. Only thing came through on the luggage carousel was my rifle case. The bag containing all my clothes and ammunition nowhere to be seen. Walmart fixed everything I needed at 11 o’clock at night but they don’t carry 280 ammo. I now always travel with a 30-06 or 270 back up rifle. It’s funny, I’m all Mopar be different with cars. But guns? I want the most common calibers haha.
Man! That would have been a trip. Yeah 280, 264, 260, countless magnum cartridges are always scarce if you’re in a pinch. I’m just too pragmatic personally on that front. But am glad for guys who like to do the oddball calibers too. Anything to keep the industry going.I’ll admit that I’ve been burned by my stubbornness. I’m out myself. Got the .308 with me today.Pretty quiet in here for being deer season. Not even a single argument touting 30-06 as the ultimate deer round! Arguably it is the 350 Chevy of the gun world!
No wonder we get along, me and my trusty 308 are hitting the woods tomorrow. I hung rafters all day today and need a down day tomorrow!I’m out myself. Got the .308 with me today.
The 350 is effective but the repairs to the Fisher body always suck. I'll vote for the '06 given a choice.Pretty quiet in here for being deer season. Not even a single argument touting 30-06 as the ultimate deer round! Arguably it is the 350 Chevy of the gun world!
