Hardtop windshield frame for a vert?

I didn’t think I’d make it through all the spot welds! And to think I’m only half way through them. Got the donor upper cowl off tonight.

I quit counting @ 240 of em and just ground my teeth till I finished. Don't ya just love the double thickness ones? Make sure you line the welds on the brake and steering support up really well (makes the steering wheel look crooked if ya don't get it dead on.)

I need to decide what to paint/coat the inside of the cowl with. Anybody got some good suggestions? I'm leaning toward painting it body color but I'm open still.

Alright gang, been MIA, life got busy for a while. Finally made some progress. Got the donor part all cut out. Also cut out a lot more of mine than I originally planned when I found some bonus rust. Luckily the donor part was much bigger than I needed. Got the transplant mocked up now! Just need to clean up some patches in the upper and lower cowls and weld it back together.

I think if I had to go through that much trouble to save the 65 Valiant convertible that I have, I would throw in the towel and just part it out. It's got some Rust issues, but it doesn't seem to be that bad.

This was definitely the worst of it. Hasn’t been too hard really. And I’ve never done body work before. Luckily I’ve got a buddy who is a metal master to help out occasionally. If I can do it, anyone can.
