I actually see this fairly often on C/L........"I'm selling............." bla bla bla but ......"if I have to do this or that"...................."THE PRICE GOES UP."

Here we go..........WHY continue to build and work on something all the while "trying" to sell it. Maybe I don't WANT your ideas on build? Maybe I would do it different? I sure as hell don't need to pay YOUR labor if I show up to buy it ???? LOL

Or maybe it's the wifey / girlfriend 'get that crap outta my.........'

I am building this car to sell at any time during the build. The more I do, the higher the price.

- Mocked up with 440 / 727 Mopar. Engine is torn down and needs rebuilt or built up. Crank is std/std and has a fresh polish job. polish. Trans is high mileage runner.

- 9" ford with 4:11 /spool.

Tilt front end.

Buy it take it home and finish it yourself, or buy it and have me finish it for you at a reduced labor rate. All parts and materials at cost. Can easily be converted to a manual trans.

At this current stage 8/25/2017 I'm asking $3500 firm. **** CASH ONLY - NO TRADES ****

**** Bill of sale only at this time, I'm working on getting a title ****

Price goes up as I progress on it's construction.

**** NOTE; I've got the cage 99% done, just needs door bars which I always install at the very last ****

Initial contact to be made through a CL email ....

Build album here;
Team 61 Race Cars

SERIOUS inquiries only, please. Tire kickers, please pass me by .....

maybe the guy likes building rods? Maybe its his version of ransom: "Buy it now and save it or I'll drop in a ford 9 and a LS motor in it and sell it to the next guy!"

Craigslist is a bit of an enigma. I also don't understand the people who say, I want $[ridiculous price] and if I don't get it I'm sending it to the crusher!

Or, people who list their cars for $X and when it doesn't sell forever they up the price.

I had a 48 Willys p/u with 440/727 8 3/4" out of 69 440 six pack. Still had straight axle and didn't like curves. After I swapped the original 383 from my GTS for the 440 and sold the Willys for $500 a guy got killed in it running from state trooper. I found out years later and my 383 was history. Another one of my mistakes, Joe

Craigslist is free.....and worth it.
Remember Auto Trader? They started a "Run until sold" feature in their magazine. I'll bet that this started the trend of people casually "selling" their cars by listing them at prices only an idiot with a shoebox full of money would buy. People today really do have it too easy. When you get free access to something, it gets abused because there is no limit. Imagine FREE health care...You'd get every mooch in town going in for a runny nose or an itchy asshole, resulting in longer wait times for legitimate ailments.
Face it...Many people are greedy, are idiots, clueless dorks or just delusional. Craigslist allows even the least educated toothless moron FREE access to write their own ad with all of the terrible grammar and spelling errors for all to see. Fore sell, needs restored, Or bestest offer, all original but with new paint, aftermarket seats and a V8 swap...

Yeah, but he`s offering to finish it for you at a reduced labor rate! That could be $25 hr. verses $100. That`s a Steal!

I've said this earlier, more than once. I believe there should be SOME nominal fee for CL which would pay for a certain amount of accountability. Even if 1-, 2, --5 bucks per ad

You don't have to imagine free healthcare, just look at your average Medicare patients...no copay
AND they come in for everything

Normally I agree with your posts but you obviously know nothing about Medicare! My wife and I are on Medicare and costs out of pocket are a little more than my employer provided insurance was. Google it, that's free.
BTW the vehicle referred to by the OP is a hideous crusher IMO

Medicare doesn't pay ****. I think you got your "benefits" confused.

i may have the terms wrong

my wife works at a doctors office and complains about these people on (i thought) medicare that have a zero copay and so they come in for the silliest things and basically waste everyones time for things that really dont require actual medical advice

that where i was coming from, but i guess she's right, i really dont pay attention
(i think thats what she said, either that or something about dinner)

That's pretty normal, since she closed up shop. If I ain't getting any then I'm not interested in doing much for you either. So buzz off, can't you see I'm busy here. Yeah, I can make my own sandwich, later. Close the door behind jha would jha.
Ok, I just made that up. My dear wife loves me to death, and my 220 pounds proves I'm getting a lotta suppers.

In the first place "asking" means you are negotiable to me.
If it is "3500 firm" at that date and stage, he should have just said that.
I'm not iterested at 3500.
Now, if it the price was 3499.99 I would buy it. (Sarcasm about another odd sales strategy)

"Ran when parked" is such a bullshit line.
Why was it parked?
It could have been parked 30 years ago. Time is NOT good for a car, especially if it is outside, inside where it is damp, in a humid or coastal climate....
