Hello
my name is Thorsten (42) and I am from Germany.
Last year I bought a Dodge Dart Swinger (v8, 318).
He comes from Hollywood / Ca
When I saw the car for the first time, I'm not great about it and bought it immediately.
He is original and unique tinkering. A survivor :)
Paint is put through some polished, but that should stay that way.
It must show how old he is :)
Seats were close but something is indeed not after 42 years.
Underbody and a few little things still need to be made??,
then he can and should return to the road.
Since my youth I might have classic cars, degree of Us-style I like.
And now it just had to be even a v8 :)
I am also OpelFan and therefore had / I have some Opel
from 60/70er.
p.s
This text was translated by google.
can still read and understand English well but write no way :)

Wilkommen. That Opel Rekord could almost stand-in for a Plymouth Duster. How about some photos under the hood of all your cars. Your Hollywood car is probably pretty rust-free now. You need to treat the metal immediately to avoid rust. In the U.S. North, they would rust thru in 5 years, so expect the same in German winters. Remove the inner door panels and clean and paint the outer door panel insides, especially at the bottom and forward crevices where they like to rust thru. Just look at photos of rusted cars to figure where you need extra care.

Good Morning
A sealing he gets, I'm just here to make the subfloor ready.
And to remove all rust fly as far as possible. That's why I turned it on its side. Is work to be better off than on a stage.
But have bills in 1973 and 1981 where he was getting for the cavities,
one black gunk you can feel it. As the old lady that drove him probably already made provisions :)
But I will not ride it in the winter so he will not see any snow or salt.
Modern cars are sure to destroy them :)

The Record C / Commodore A looks like GM's fault :)
The body line followed a mid-1960s in the United States caused a new design style for muscle cars, the coke bottle shape. As a guideline for the design of GM had given the Chevrolet Chevelle.
Commodore A with 6 cylinders is much faster, but it is also to get only rarely.

Here are some Pictures

Hi Tic Tac Thorsten!

welcome from germany. Already saw this nickname in the german mopar forum. Nice Opels you have over there, my first car was a Knudsen Taunus.

the Darts interior is pretty nice! The whole car, too. Do you run 15" wheels all around? wich tire size?

Fabo is a great place, you´ll like it!

Michael

The Dart was 3/2011 delivered from Hollywood to Munich.
I bought the Dodge 8/2012.
Yes here drive around a lot of nice cars.
And many are also offered

There are Chrysler OE steel wheels in 15-7zoll (4 Backspace)
Front: 205/60-15 Rear: 225/60-15
The German TÜV makes because the rules of the game.
This combination is ok said the experts :icon_smi:
The stainless steel exhaust system is probably too loud
We want to wait and see :coffee2:
In april I want to GermanTüV, German papers and then he gets an approval

Welcome to FABO! You have a nice car collection and I like the new "redline" hubcaps and exhaust you installed. Just those two items have transformed the car nicely. Many of us here have the "car disease" so you are in good company. Enjoy the "overload of information" provided here.......you will find camaraderie with your Mopar!

Welcome to FABO!Nice cars you have over there.Do you belong to the same club as Uli?(he has a 65 Barracuda)

Nice photos. The Kadett's engine and subframe looks simple and elegant, probably as easy to repair as a VW Beetle. It even has an anti-sway bar. Chrysler sold the Omni and Horizon in the U.S. in the 1980's, using an Opel engine (1.7L OHC I recall). I much prefer the Rekford's body to the Kadett. It is amazing how well your Dart fits in with your other cars.
