66 dart sedan, I have some trim off, but I can not figure out how this outer trim piece that goes around the rear glass trim is removed. How is it held on? Please help.

You'll need a trim clip removal tool for the inner piece. The tool will have to go between the gasket and the inner stainless trim.
The outer piece is attached with screws and the glass and gasket have to be removed for access to the screws. They are a pain in
the *** to remove. Be patient and careful so you don't damage the trim.

Seriously? Wow, forget that I am not removing the glass. I guess we will have to mask as best we can and spray real good at that seam. Thanks LR for the info. That is exactly what I needed. I did by the tool, but looks like I won't be needing it.

Actually Lee, maybe I can remove that bottom section of the inner trim piece to make it easier to paint. Is it possible to just remove the bottom part of the inner trim piece near the trunk ? I have the tool. Or do I have to remove the entire inner trim . I see it has sections that overlap. Help?

You would want to remove the side pieces to access the bottom piece.

Yes, thats the tool.
Triangle just releases hook thats inside the trim.
If there was a photo or something to help you understand the shape and location of clip, the less likely you will damage the moulding.
