if you plan on shifting at 5500, you are going to be leaving an aweful lot of performance on the table. That cam is going to give you a lot more mph, and a lot less ET, if shifted well north of 6000. Ima gonna guess somewhere around 6400.It kinda depends on your tranny. A close ratio can be shifted at a lower rpm, to come in after the shift at a similar hp level. With a wide ratio you have to wind it up a little more.The idea is go out and come in at near the same power levels.Of course on the street, it doesnt matter much, cause top of first is often speeding or near to it.
-My 292 cam liked 6600, and wasnt any slower at 6800. I regularly shifted at 7200. Mostly because it just sounded so tremendously awesome. Yeah I had some good springs on there.
