Eighteen years ago, when my wife and I had our house built, we got to the point where the contractor told us the electrician needed the light fixtures.

Of course, Lowes and Home Depot's stuff is all Chinese. We went to a lighting-only store, and they had all Chinese stuff, it was just priced higher.

Anyhow, the crappy Chinese bathroom light we bought then is trash and we're shopping for a new one.

Online, "Rejuvenation" sells themselves as the end-all of lighting. They offer "custom" lights. You pick a fixture, and they "customize" it to your "specifications". The specs being; chrome, brass, satin, etc. finishes, and type of globe. Big deal. They emphasize that it's assembled in their Portland, OR facility. They don't say it, but I'm pretty sure all of the parts are Chinese. I emailed them to find out.

They want $374.00 for the junk! THEN, the small print says that it's not returnable because it's "custom"! Shipping is 10%, plus they add the 7% for the dictator of NJ.

Another source, "Shades of Light", (They use the acronym SOL on their website!) sells one for $189.00, and they hint around at how they sell products from "all over the world", and make some in their facility, and you have to look at their prices to guess which few they make. I emailed them to see where the one we picked out is made, not assembled. We can return that one, at our expense. I want to look at it and see if it's worth $189.00. I doubt it. I think these online places just sell Chinese junk and try to sell you that it's fantastic stuff.

Is there lighting that's made in the U.S.?

As a side note, we just bought a couple window blinds from Reddit. They were $98 each, and it's the same crap you buy at HD or Lowe's!
