    Here is a picture I took of a tree in the field that I hunt and I just had to share it with everyone.

          Looks like a dragon head. There is an eye, and the mouth is open showing teeth

            That is what I see 68 Sedan, Good eye, I think the paint program in my computer can do wonders to it.8)

            How did this happen :-k
            This old tree is pointing strait southeast to the St. Francis River below the mouth of the Little River in Poinsett County, Arkansas, the St. Francis is navigable by barge. It joins the Mississippi, I am not sure how old this tree is ,but it could be a marker made years ago to mark a direction to the river.
            And with out erection he is still doing his job.:toothy7:

            That shoot is probably the remains of a root that may have run over a rock or a log. As the tree grew, the root rose up with the tree and finally died off after many years. Years ago I took a class in Bonsai, and many of the techniques that we were taught mimic odd things that happen in nature. Root over rock technique is one. You could easily see how a shoot can start downward.
