How Many Musicians do we have here

-
With the press of business and life in general, I don't get to play as much as I used to but the 6 piece with the double bass pedal is mine ...

Damn Leana, the more I learn about you, the more I like you...

68 340 Cuda and plays drums..Perfect...

My favorite drummers are: Keith Moon, Neil Peart, Stewart Copeland, Carl Palmer

I make noise on the guitar but that's about it.... lol

Friend and I are going to start to get together and teach each other if that makes since. He knows a little more than I.

I have been a drummer for 30 years. Played in an orginal band and recorded an album in the 1990's. Currently I am part of a Rolling Stones cover project called The Main Street Exiles.

I started playing Cello in grammar school in 1962. Switched to Double bass and electric bass in high school, and finally to electric bass only.
I'm now 61 years old. So, it's been a while (49 years).

Hmmmm, lots of talented folks on here!! Been seriously pickin' and a grinnin' for about 27 years now......Wow, where did the time go??? LOL!!!
Ovation acoustics (12 string,6 string, mandolin), a few Gibson Les Pauls (STD, Custom, Studio), and some others totaling 10 stringed insturments in all + some Marshall and other amps. Whew.....I'm outta breath just thinking about all this stuff......

I wish I'd started playing ten or fifteen years ago. I might not feel like I still suck by now. :)

I am very good with setting up for people who have musical ability. I also DJ weddings and do live announcing for Basketballand Football at local high schools.

I play music for a living. Songwriter, tour and record albums. Guitar player and singer. Love music and always have! :) It has taken me to many places around the world.

The very first thing I learned to play was the beginning to "Smoke on the Water" on my brothers guitar. Been hooked ever since!

jtolbert you probably don't suck it's just all in your mind. I'm just average my self I would say I'm more of an entertainer than a great musician but I've made a lot of bucks doing it!

other shot

I play guitar and bass in a 16 piece big band and bass in a 4-piece combo (straight-ahead jazz.)

Started playing when I was seven (1945) and I am going to keep at it 'till I get it right. :(

Love the music of the post-bop era (Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Johnny Smith, Oscar Peterson, Joe Pass, et. al) but also Steely Dan, because their albums are so well-played (and, written.)

I'd love to hear from anyone else who enjoys that kind of music, as, such people seem to be in short supply on this board, and in general. (A master of ceremonies was asking a sax player, "Why did you choose JAZZ?" The sax player replied, "Because I HATE crowds!!!"

More truth than poetry...

My email is [email protected]

Cheers...

I love the Gibson T-Birds. Especially if they balance out on the strap. I have been playing bass for 33 years and toured 5 years or so. Right now I play a Warwick Streamer$$ 5 string. Man what a sweet bass. Try Warwick & you'll love them. I also have been building and selling basses on Ebay for 10 or so years(Yes Ebay is that old LOL). I have a beauty for sale right now. Check it out on Ebay if you want.

Bill are you a fan of Return to Forever

I like "Spain" (awesome recording,) and Chick Corea is a monster player for sure, but that group is a little too "outside" for me. I am more a fan of the post-bebop groups of the late '50s, such as small groups led by Oscar Petersen, Jackie McLean, Lee Morgan, Gene Harris, and Wes Montgomery.

The "M F Horn" big band CD by Maynard Ferguson, is also a favorite of mine. "L Dopa," from that album, really cooks... Not your usual big band sound...

Have you heard it?

28 year guitarist, lead and rhythm, Blues, Southern rock, Classical, Metal, and more... Played for a few signed bands. Right now, I'm playing a Carvin strat.

18 year bass player. Never been in a successful band though.

its hard you have to put the music first and lose any hang ups (nagging gf, to much booze, ect). it also helps to have a group of like minded people, that can get along.

I think you guys need to get together at Mopar's at the Strip for a jam session:D

I don't really consider myself a musician but I have been playing bass for 21 years now. Had one pretty successful band on a regional level years ago. Now I do some studio work on occasion and my own stuff.

This was my rig... Trace Elliot QuatraValve, 1524 2x15 cab, and 4052h Bright Box. I sold the Quatra and now run a Trace Elliot RAH350SMX. Still have my first bass I ever bought!

I come from a huge musical family. I'm a brass and sax specialist along with the drums and my step dad played Bass for Eddie Money for several years and continues to this day to produce his own music that is a cross between Eric Johnson and Traffic. My best friends father ( who's like a third dad to me ) is the lead singer of the legendary Funk band ConFunkShun. I've always loved the gutair and I'm slowly picking it up with the limited time I do have between restoring this god damn car!!!!!!!
