My car is a 67 Dart. Curious as to how much power a set of M/T drag radial street tires that will fit in a stock 67 dart wheel tub with a 1/2” leaf spring offset kit can handle. What size tire is being used?

My 68 GTS had 9.5 wide tires with offset rims, but I had room to spare toward the leaf springs. I don't see why you can't fit a 10" wide tire within the confines of the dart wheel opening.

At the moment I have 245/60 tires. I have seen where some have used 255/60 up to 275/60 street tires. I currently have 411 hp. I am about to offset the springs hangers 1/2” and narrow the rearend 1” or so on each side. Thinking about using a street style drag radial. Is anyone putting 500 flywheel hp to a set of M/T ET drag radials. What size? What issues?

Not a whole lot. The dart wheel wells are the worst for tire clearance. I had to roll the lip just to get 235's on mine and its still close.

255-60's on mine but on 15x7 4.25 backspace wheels. I couldn't get a 15x8 to fit without moving the springs or rolling the quarter lip. You can put quite a bit of power down with the right tire and suspension package.

Reminder : 67-69 Dart/Barracudas with 440's in NHRA Stock eliminator and 1970-1972 Dart/Dusters in Stock Eliminator are using 9" tires WITHOUT tubs and are in the 10's . Tire technology today is light years ahead of what it was even 10 years ago . Try 'em .

Some good point here. I think I will just do a 1/2" offset on the leaf springs, Fit what I can in there and let it go. Thanks for the responses.
