Let the boy go !
I may consider this with my Ragtop 4 spd 833. I'm not getting any younger. Still no issues driving a stick. Following

Yes they can build a flex plate for the magnum or LA blocks they need specs however. So you would need to work with them. Along with spacers between the flex plate and the ZF torque converter there is a gap and it can vary.I’d like to do the same and have been following developments in this Facebook group. A few folks have claimed Domi-Works is developing the flex plate adapter to go from sbm to 8hp but I haven’t seen it listed on their website yet.

Does anyone have a line on a flex plate solution for the 8HP70 to an LA motor? I know that @4.7Light used something that was being fabricated by a shop that is apparently no longer an option. I've seen people comment that a 6L60E plate can be drilled for the 8HP torque converter, but I haven't found a specific example of that actually being done. It's a little crazy to me that there is a solution like this out there that doesn't even require an adapter plate and there are so few people taking advantage of it. I'm picking up a low mileage transmission and torque converter this week out of a V8 R/T. I'm sorting through the options for controllers, but it's hard to justify double the price for the turbolamic vs the Sound German solution when I have no plans of converting to fuel injection. turbolamic does seem to support a lot more options in terms of shifters, but I don't think it's worth the price for me. I'll stick with a junkyard Dodge shifter for now. My only concern is that Sound German seems like it might be a lot more of a one man shop?
I am told US Car tool specialty racing is making them
No I had already done my swap but that is what I installed .@4.7Light is that for your next swap? When was the order placed? Phone calls aren't going through for me.
The truck will have a different tail shaft and software. You would have to program it to shift manual via the Challenger style shifter. I used a Scatpack 2022 8hp70 low mileage transmission 1500 cash. The truck tail shaft would work fine with a 1350 ujoint. But I just used the CV joint style from the car unit. I mean after all look at the HP they are throwing on those units. Custom drive shaft from Tulsa drive shaft incorporated 400.@4.7Light if I'm using the Sound German Automotive control, do I care what the transmission comes out of? If I can pull one out of a lower mileage truck, vs a higher mileage Challenger or Charger, to I pick the lower mileage truck? The local pick apart has a half-off sale tomorrow, transmissions are ~$100.
Talk with Russel Drake less he changed something you will have to program that TCU for it to do the manual shift I think.Does the Sound German Automotive software do everything I'd need to get the truck transmission to work with the Challenger shifter?
I posted it all out on my build everything I did and how you can look at Frakendart or in this post I also laid it all out with pictures. I also did the same on the Facebook page for 8h la/RB swap page. Under Vince Geissler hope that helps. It's very doable I did this on my own with some help from Russel Drake when I calibrated the TPS, speed sensor and helped me enable the shifter for the challenger style I got from him.It would be nice if a sticky was made or a list for this swap for everything needed . . I would like to do this swap in the near future . Thanks . Great thread .
