Hurst shifter reverse

Bought this hurst comp plus for 72 340 duster been working on and 1st,2nd, 3rd and 4th seems shift fine but reverse will not go in and out I feel possible shift selector weren't moved but this mechanism bought fresh rebuilt from Dr hurst any idea?

Pictures of the shifter? Are you sure its a comp plus?

If you unhook the linkage, will the trans go into Rev manually?

If it's a super comp, - you have to push the handle down as you try for reverse .

lay trans on it's side, loosen the side cover bolts, shift into reverse, with a wrench, now tighten the cover back down, there is a shoe inside trans matches up to 1-2 shift fork , if it's not set right trans will not go into reverse look in a service manual it shows how this is setup

If it's a super comp, - you have to push the handle down as you try for reverse .

It just comp plus not super kind.

Turn out something to do with selector that would shift in to make to work to reverse.
